I suppose I wouldn't call myself a closet brony. As I have told most people I know well, just told my Mum on facebook today, waiting for her response. But I am a closet hardcore brony. The show gives me the confidence online at least to epress my feminine side and not be seen at some wierdo when I say something looks cute or adorable. I would like to buy figurines, theme my computer and buy cloths about it or even wear nice colors like pink, but I wouldn't be comfortable with my friends coming around around and seeing that stuff. I failed to convert my best friend and he made some hurtful comments about bronies and bought into the fox news crap, so I think he may think i'm insane if he sees me to over the top about it. As far as they know all I did was watch the season and got over it.

I'm in the Stable, as ClickityHack said, because I am a teenager.
    So? you think.
    Let me finish.
    A teenager in the USA.
    That's right.
Everyone I know, everyone, is a judgemental dipstick.
I tried telling a few friends I was a brony.
One repeatedly tried to bring it up at BSA meetings.
One said he finds it "amusing" that I watched ponies.
And the third one, oh, this one is interesting.
I had introduced him to VGCats a long time ago.
Well, one day, I had become a brony, and locked a door on a minecraft server with the password "rainbowdash". My friend (Isaac) was unable to open the door, which didn't make sense because I told him the password. I then asked him if he recognized the name and he replied "Yes... my little pony...".
To this point, I'm not sure if he knew because he keeps his bronyness a secret or because he actually looked into the show based on the announcement made by the maker of VGCats.
I plan to confront him about this soon.

I've met some nice people from the USA online. Anyone mean I met online I never cared to know where they're from.

I am a hardcore closet brony.... It'd weird people out for a guy like me to watch the show, so I keep it low key.

Your cutie mark is a bass clef... do you play an instrument? *Recruitment time*

funny thing but in my oppinient, those guys are ones that are immature, since they can't go outside standards and openly and rationally look up situation.
i'm probably not much older that you (i'm 19), I'm still teenager, and most people my age and younger seem to overgrown phase where they pick up on someone as silly as watching a show (or playing some sport or anything like that).
only thing I can suggest you that if they give you problems, you could outsmart them.

oh yes, edit on what Wilddwarf said: don't get me wrong, I know a lot of nice people that are from usa,I don't think it has much to do on where's someone from.

just one more thing that came on my mind: I find it fascinating: Teenagers (in Chippered's school) who are closer to target audience make more problem about brony thing, when people in same time on my collage (that are all 19 years and older) make no problem and actually try out the show themselves (and many of them became bronies). And you won't see much flaming on board (on board you can find someone to say it's gay or something, but those are usually people who claim never to have watched the show and there's not many of them anymore), and even lees (none) in real life.

That's mostly a maturity issue. Kids tend to be more immature than their older counterparts. Especially at those ages. At those ages it's all about bullying and trying to substantiate yourself up a certain "food chain" we'll call it. The younger they are, the more kids in general around those ages tend to be immature. Of course there's exceptions to this rule, I'm just speaking in a general broad sense. And at certain ages, people tend to shift out of that phase. Another words, they start to grow up and become adults. lol They get older, more serious and simply don't care as much about such trivial things. Also, with a career, bills, a home and possibly a family, you only have so much time for such silly stuff. lol There are of course immature adults as well. But y'know.

I have just downloaded a whole load of MLP wallpapers and have them slideshowing on my desktop. But I'm going to have to change it to my Final Fantasy/ Kingdom Hearts / World of Warcraft Wallpaper folder when ever I'm expecting someone over. But what if they come over unexpectedly? Am I being too paranoid?

The problem is no one assumes I'm obsessed about WOW when they see those wallpapers in fact they know don't even play it anymore but still appreciate it. Same with Final Fantasy and I also have a medium collection of figurines of these things and no one cares. But I bet if my non-brony friends (which is all of them at the moment) saw MLP Wallpapers or even one MLP Figurine they would assume I'm obsessed and give me are hard time about it. Which is kind of true, at the moment, but I've only been obsessed for 2 weeks, surely I will escape it eventually. Or am I doomed?

You know, this reminds me of an experience I had in my childhood. I used to watch Cardcaptor Sakura and I had this really stereotypically masculine friend who I was afraid would make fun of me if he found out. So I braced myself for a big confrontation. When it happened, I got ready to tell him off; but then, he told me it was okay...because he watched Cardcaptor Sakura too.

My friends already know I watch the show, but they don't know I spend most of my time online about it. I'm sure that would be a whole other level of yay hitting the fan.

If i went back in time 2 1/2 years when i was in high school i would have loved the show but i'd would never tell anypony. I was far to worried about image and all that stupid stuff, but as time progressed after school up until now i realized that i shouldn't be ashamed of things i like.

So over the last year i went from shy, never argue, sacred of what people thought of me to being able to do what i want without caring.

Also to show my brony awesomeness i bought a rarity shirt and rainbow dash shirts and wear them whenever possible

I plan to get some shirts too. Tell me... does it feel as manly wearing them as I imagine?

In that case, I'm getting a Fluttershy one, and I'm to go to the roughest part of Cardiff, and share the love.

They will all probably be wearing Fluttershy shirts too. This gives me an idea though. A big biker gang all wearing MLPFiM shirts and such. That would be the meanest, toughest biker gang around. No one would mess with them.

If you make a pony biker gang i request that I'd be allowed permission to join.

If your going to get shirts i know of some awesome sites that you could look at.

Also it's the most manly feeling ever.

YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BELIEVE THIS.

Me and a user called I_Ride_Ponies came up with the exact same idea, except we also had badges.

I'm having a brony moment right now, hardcore.

lol Eh, I'm not really a biker myself. I was just funnin' around. Though I could see a Brony biker club happening. As for shirts, WeLoveFine has a bunch of new designs, some I really want.
