Into the Everfree (for Pinkly Smooth)

Bolt laughed and hugged Xeno. "True." He laughed

 

Xeno blushed alittle and laughed with bolt

 

Bolt began to twitch. "You...where are you?!" He yelled, jumping into a defensive position.

 

"I'm right here!", Xeno replied worryingly

 

"Not you. Them." Bolt said. There was rustling in trees around them.

 

"Them?", Xeno asked, pulling out a falchion in her hoof, & a crossbow in her magical grasp

 

An array of throwing knives rained from the trees. Bolt pulled Xeno as tightly as he could against him with one hoof, and stuck the other in front of him. His horn glowed, and he blinked his eyes. When they reopened, they were grey and ringed. "Almighty Push!" He yelled. A burst of fierce wind repelled the knives, sending them back into the trees. Ten dead pegasi fell from them.

 

"What're they after!", Xeno asked, making her weapons disappear into ash

 

"My life. I used to be an assassin for Princess Luna. They're all from the city who's leader I executed." Bolt answered.

 

"You, an assassin, you seem to be more of a toe to toe fighter..."

 

"Sorry. I was used to scare the fight out of Equestria's enemies. I'm one of the reasons we haven't been at war." Bolt corrected himself

 

"First you're an assassin, now you're a fear factor?"

 

"No, assassin was the wrong word for what I meant." He revised

 

"And normally I'm the one confusing others...", Xeno says, putting her face in her hooves, out of shame

 

Bolt leapt behind her, catching a knife in his teeth. He exhaled a fireball at the attacker. "Buck you pegasi!" He spat.

 

"Thank you...", Xeno muttered

 

Bolt spat a rain of fire into the trees, killing the rest of the attackers. "I'm sorry Xeno I didn't think I would need to tell ya.

 

"Sorry, it's not you, I've met assassins, & seriously consitered it too."

 

He walked over, severely out of breath. "What's wrong?" He asked, panting

 

"It's not important, lets just keep going..."
