(Troi? Yeah, I could see her watching it as part of a study of 21st century pop culture or something.) "It's a long story. But essentially this is all an illusion created by the mind of a filly who may or may not be a cyborg." Cyborg? why did he just call Usagi a cyborg? How did he even know what a cyborg is? Discord's head was filled with many questions, and an equal number of answers, all fighting to be heard. It was as if the little voice in his head that occasionally told him to make references to things he didn't understand was suddenly working overtime, stimulated by his current surroundings and the form he had assumed. He needed to find Usagi soon, he wasn't sure what would happen if he didn't. (Again, I'm going on my theory that Discord and Q are somehow linked, and all this Trekiness is causing that link to grow stronger. It's not Usagi altering his mind as such, it's more that she's stimulating it to change on it's own, if that makes sense?)
"I'm guessing I'm able to take this transformation without too much in the way of panic is because the filly didn't put much thought into my reaction? Let's see the turbo lift should be this way." So he wasn't really Riker he was just an illusion of Riker? That was good to know. He had thought this might be an odd sort of dream. This was not how he wanted his wife seeing him. ~~~~ *In reality, or one reality at least* Troi hated it when Q abducted her husband, but this time seemed to be different. Instead of out right abducting Ricker for some hair brained scheme, this time Q seemed to be only influencing his dream, and an in quite an interesting way. She would have to thank Lioconvoy for the dream viewer he gave them as a wedding present.
"Why does everything have to be called turbo in the 80s," Discord muttered to himself as they reached the lift and headed to sick bay. "Yes, I would imagine that is the case," He said, looking at Riker. "Either that or she's never seen you panic and therefore has no frame of reference for what that would look like. Clearly she was not around for that whole 'Frame of Mind' incident..."
"...I'd rather not remember that incident. Sometimes I have nightmare where I've returned there...." Fortunately Lio made a modification to do the Dream Viewer he gave to himself and Diana as wedding present to delete those nightmares immediately. It was bad enough his subconscious remembered he didn't want to consciously remember it. "Wait did you say Dr. Convoy? As in Lioconvoy?" [Yep, you officially kidnapped a real Riker. Or at least his mind. Ponyville isn't the only reality of a TV show Lio has visited.]
"Lioconvoy? You mean you know Lio? Well, he certainly gets around doesn't he; I'll have to have a chat with him if we ever get out of here." Discord shook his head. "No. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately; I'm not sure how Lio's going to respond to all this, I'm not here with Lio, I'm here with his daughter, Usagi." They stepped out of the lift on the appropriate level. "It can't be much further now, surely?" (Oh good, I'm sure Discord's always wanted to add kidnapping a Star Fleet officer to his list of accomplishments.)
"Sadly no, important area except the bridge a located a distance from turbo lifts. It's a security feature. He has a daughter? You said she's a cyborg? How did a giant robot mate with a human?" Maybe this was a dream? The Dream viewer interacted with whatever causes the creation of this reality. If is was a dream and he now knew it was a dream.... William Thomas Riker focused his mind and tried to change himself back. The result was his clothes now matched the odd outfit Apple Jack wore in Rainbow Rocks. Right, he had no control. [Usagi was born in 2009, Riker and Troi got married in a 2002 movie. So she wasn't born yet when Lio visited their universe.]
Discord raised an eyebrow. "Giant robot? Are you sure we're talking about the same Lio? The Lio and Usagi I know are both ponies; odd ponies, certainly, but ponies none the less." He definitely needed to have a talk with Lio when he got back. He looked critically at Riker's new outfit. "I'm sorry; this is far too distracting." He clicked his fingers and transformed Riker into a pony; a bearded Applejack clone in a Starfleet uniform. "That's better. Maybe now I'll be able to concentrate." Discord had grown accustomed to being surrounded by ponies, and the familiarity of Riker's new form allowed him to think a little more like his normal self. "As to how exactly Usagi came to be formed; it's not a question I've asked, nor is it one I particularly want to know the details of, regardless of what two parties were involved." He said, continuing down the corridor towards the sick bay. (Noted. I got the Cyborg part right though?)
Riker sighed. And tried one more time to turn himself back to normal. The result was his beard going away and some of the crew members in the hallway also becoming ponies. "So his alt mode is a pony now? It used to be a lion." ~~~ Usagi left the mess on a full stomach. Dream Pancakes were the best pancakes. Well this wasn't really a dream. Now she needed to find Discord and find out what was going on. Why were some of the crew ponies now? [Yeah she's a cyborg. I just noticed I already established a connection between Lio and TNG. In Glass House he thinks about contacting Barkly to try and fix Dave's holoemitter. Side note Discord and Riker have passed the entrance to the Mess so Usagi is behind them. She still thinks he's on the bridge.]
Discord groaned as they reached sick bay; Usagi wasn't here! He picked a crew member at random and spun them around to face him. "Dr. Convoy! Have you seen her? Where is she?!" Caught off guard, they just pointed back at the corridor; in the same direction they'd just come from. "Oh for the love of..." Tired of all this hide and seek, he clicked his fingers and made the entire ship transparent. This made it much easier to look for his friend, and he soon spotted her about to get into the turbolift they had just gotten out of. Or, at least where he thought the turbolift was...
As the turbo lift started to elevate her Usagi noticed the ship turned invisible, all around her she could see crew members start to panic if the ship had disappeared and they were going to be exposed to the vacuum of space. As a Doctor, a pretend one at least she needed to do something. What could she do? This was her level, it was happening in her head. She was going to borrow some powers from Q. Snaping her fingers time rewound to the point before the ship was invisible. Now she just hoped everyone forgot the ship had turned invisible and wouldn't be extra panicked. ~~~ In the sick bay Ricker was astounded by what just happened. First the ship went invisible and then time rewound to the point before it happened. Despite the fact that this was all sort of a dream, he was surprised Lio's daughter had such a level of control over it. Kirkdash got up from the medbed he was sitting on and marched up to Q. "Look mister I care who or what you are you will not treat one of my crew members that way." [Time got rewound to just before Discord said "Oh for the love of" Aside from Discord and Usagi, only Riker notices because he's an actual person and not apart of the world.]
"Wha?" Discord murmured in surprise; that wasn't meant to happen! He was starting to worry that he'd never find Usagi, that he might be destined to remain trapped in this realm. At this point, Discord noticed that some strange blue creature that bore a slight resemblance to Rainbow Dash was berating him about something. Thinking back on what had happened to Riker, he realized it must be Kirk, having undergone a similar transformation, though he was still confused as to why. He forced a smile and fought the urge to retaliate, realizing the Captain might be his best hope here. "Ah! Mon Capitaine, my most humble apologies. It is vital that I find Dr. Convoy; so if you'd kindly call her..."
"Doctor Convoy was looking for you so you could reverse what you did to me and Mr. Scott. Who is that horse?" "Captain William T Riker of the USS Titan. Q brought me here because he thought Spock was a stick in the mud. When he last saw me I was the first officer of the Enterprise D."
"Yes, and quite the trombonist, although I imagine his current form may give him trouble with that." Discord said, nodding impatiently. "Do you know where she went?"
Riker decided to once again transform himself. Maybe with Discord thinking of his trombone playing.... After a moment he was once again Equestrian Girls Applejack in a current era female Starfleet uniform. Only now he had a cowboy hat and a trombone case was slung across his back. "I believe she was going to the bridge. What have you done with Spock!" While it was odd that the pony changed from a horse to a girl like he was at present, it was more important to find out what happened to his first officer. Also what happen to his voice, it sounded younger than it had before.
"To the bridge?" Discord slumped, "We just came from there!" He clicked his fingers in frustration, and Spock reappeared.
"Maybe the trek will seem sorter if I play while we walk." Discord had mentioned wanting to hear him play. Spock looked about and wonder why he had suddenly appeared in sick bay. He also wondered why Equestian Girls where in Starfleet uniforms. Why did he know what Equestrian girls were? More god in the machine? "Spock it's good to see you back!" "Captain is that you?"
"Yes, play, greet, acknowledge; do what you have to do, just help me get back to Usagi so that we can sort this mess out." Discord said, starting to head back to the turbolifts with his strange new entourage.
Riker took out his trombone and started playing he followed Discord out of the Sick Bay. Spock and Kirkdash remained behind. ~~~~ On the bridge Usagi saw EG Raritiy talking to Uhura. How was that possible, if that picture was influencing this world, Uhura should be Rarity. Sulu should have been Apple Jack, but he was normal too. Looking closely at each crew member she tried to figure out which of the bridge crew had been turned into Rarity. Then she noticed Uhara's badge, it was the Shh jesture. Her sister had a crush on Spock so the mission had to be to get the original Spock and Uhura to kiss like in the new movies! "Where's Spock!" [Yep. That was the mission all along. I'm glad you brought him back.]
Noticing only Riker was following him, Discord returned to the sick bay and stuck his head round the doorframe. "Are you two coming?!" He asked, irritatedly. "You're making me yell, and it's ruining jazz hour!"
"I do not believe I will. What ever the purpose of my unique knowledge I feel your presence will hamper it." "While I have the nagging feeling I should be running a race or something I believe I'll follow Bots advice and stay here." ~~~~ Scotty didn't know why but he suddenly had the urge to throw a party. Was this pink form starting to affect the way he thought? Well he could beat the urges no problem. Just like he was fight the urge to get drunk while on duty. Stuck in the body of a young girl, was definitely a reason to get drunk.
