Crimson leant up against a wall until he noticed Bright touch him to gain his attention and heard his question. "I sorta remember you. You're Bright Darkness right? If so, it's good to see that you've decided to help others. You sorta get a vibe from it." The Archangel then looked up at the heroes and Infasound's question. He knew instantly that the Lunar Pegasi and the Timberwolf was Silver and Holly, and that his comrade Lifepool had served alongside him for many years. The others were new however, all of them being recruits. He sighed before walking a few meters to a table and levitated all the reports to the recruits. "Go ahead. These are important. For the most of you, this are your first assignment. Pay close attention." Crimson then leant back on his wall. "I have a feeling that since the town has had no communications for the past three hours, it has been attacked or possibly razed to the ground. Luckly for you, this is a practical assignment with an extremely low chance of hostile encounters. Once Joker comes back from his basement, he'll fill all of you in." Joker was the J.S.E's top communications expert, and a master hacker in every since of the world. To call him clever was an understatement. He was recruited because of his ability to hack into almost anything and give information almost hours in advance then the standard government. For the past several weeks, he was downstairs playing god for some reason. As soon as Crimson mentioned Joker, the earth pony came from his basement. He was a silver coated pony with a brown mane. He often wore his black signature baseball cap and a vest. However, he was tiny and not very masculine at all. Not to mention that he was only 17. "Speak of the devil and the devil shall appear. Joker is here to fill you in. Don't worry, he doesn't bite." Joker then shook hands with all the new heroes before bringing up the last recorded photograph of the border town before it disappeared from the map. Joker took his job seriously, but is also the class clown and will not hesitate to play jokes to lighten the usually tense mood. "Located very close to the border of Ardelan, as you can see the Black Pass not far from there. The town has the population of only 200. I'll provide communications for all of you, and i'll be your mother bird, your eye in the sky. Your....um.... you get the idea." Joker began. "I'll do my best to keep you updated."
Roulette reached for her files, but as soon as she touched them they were drowned, completely unuseable. "Um, do you have a laminated copy of these? Or... could you share, Guardian?"
InfraSound laughs a little at Roulette's mishap. then fixes his gaze to the report. "An entire town, huh? that's way more than anything I've done before." For a second, he starts to lose resolve, but he forces himself to keep it together.
Bright sighed heavily. ''I thought you'd hate me for what i've done in the past. I'm more than ready to help.'' He looked at the other ponies around. he whispered to himself, ''Well, looks like this is going to be harder than i expected. I'll need to get a weapon of sorts...'' He looked in Crimson's eyes. ''I haven't got any training in the past years. Last time i fought, you shall recall it... Do you know if there's an armory or something? Or, just get me a simple knife. I don't expect to fight much anyways, i'm more of a stealthy pony than a combative warrior.''
"Oh, i remember. I had to help fix the mess you've made. I'm not angry at you, but I'm willing to give you another chance for atonement. The armory is downstairs, three corridors to the left, one to the right and straight down a set of stairs. You cant miss it." Archangel told Bright.
"Another chance for atonement?" InfraSound asked. "Am I the only one that's suddenly afraid of this Bright guy?"
Bright's cheeks redened. ''Don't misjudge me! I used to want Crimson dead once, as well as killing all of his gang, because they wanted to stop me from making the world a better place in my opinion back then. But 4 years of therapy have straightened my mind enough for me to stand by your side today...'' He cocked his head at him. ''We haven't been properly introduced, or i'm afraid i forgot your name. I'm Bright Darkness, but you can call me Shift.''
"Hi there. I'm InfraSound. Sorry if we sort of got off on the wrong hoof. I'm just not used to working with others. I usually just deal with petty thugs in Canterlot. It's nice to meet you." InfraSound clumsily responded.
"Ooooh sounds fun, when do we start i bet i could do this blindfolded, I mean i wont but i could if i wanted to" Vibrato said "That reminds me if we're gonna be fighting together you might wanna take these" She handed out custom earplugs to each pony,"On the battlefield my music can get really messy if you catch my drift".
"Your music?" InfraSound pauses for a moment, than comes to a sudden realization, gasping, "You use sound too? No way! That's so cool! We're totally gonna rock the house!..." He continues on exclaiming his delight at another pony having a similar power as him. "And then you'll be all like 'BREEEE!' and they'll pass out and I'll be all like 'BOOOOOOM!' and blast them away!"
"You forgot about the SCREEEEETCH and then the WAAAAAWAAAWAA, But you were close enough, By the way my name is Vibrato but you can just call me awesome, Id be completely fine with that" She replied
"Why you clever clever girl..." Bringing his attention back to the mission at hand, he takes another look at everypony. "So, when are we heading off?"
"Once you've equipped yourselves. The Armor is downstairs, but you'll wanna get yourself some grub or something that you'll get yourself prepared. We leave in 15 minutes, just meet me outside where there is a ship outside for transportation of non flying personnel." Archangel then looked at Guardian. "You might not need it Guardian, considering your faster then the ship anyway." before giving a wink at the lunar pegasus. "I'll see you outside." Archangel said as he took his weaponry and walked out the door.
"Well i don't need anything more than what ive got on, So ill head outside as well" Vibrato headed out the door yelling "Hey Archy i got dibs on shotgun".
Life looked out the glass window and down to the ship. He. Then turned to Guardian "Looks like it'll be a crescent moon tonight. A silver one too." he then turned back before jumping out the window and landing 2cm away from the ship. "oooooooowwwwwwwwwww." he then hobbled towards his seat on the ship
"Well, I'm pretty hungry. I sorta missed breakfast getting here," InfraSound said, and he headed own to the mess, where he proceeded to stuff himself full of food. After he had eaten to his heart's content, he headed out to the ship.
''Okay, Let's meet outside, i guess.'' Shift looked at his shadow, offered by the bright light of the neons, and used his power. He shifted places with his shadow, making him, in color and 2 dimensions, on the floor, and a 3d figure of darkness stand as if it was a pony, wich just jumped and passed through the ground. Downstairs, he quickly found his way to the armory. Re-Shifting to normal, he asked the guy at the desk to give him a long survival knife, as well as a small handgun designed for earth ponies. The fetcher gave him his items in a small delay, as well as straps and holsters for both items. Bright Darkness then shifted to his shadow self again and used the light and a wall to get on the ceiling, to somwhow go back to the surface. Re-shifting, he walked in the corridors to find his way outside, next to the ship, to sit next to the ship's door. He hated the idea of loosing contact with the ground, and decided to enjoy it to a maximum before the flight.
Guardian, who at this point was incredibly confused, headed outside to take a look at the ship. He had managed to gather that the JSE was planning a mission of some kind, but he unsure who they were going after, or why. He sighed, and turned to Nightshade. "Well, I have no idea what's going on right now. I suppose all we can do at this point is to play along until we find something to hit."
