"I'll hold onto the shard for safekeeping," Ellie said. "Maybe I could just... I don't know. Drop it somewhere and hope someone finds it."
Ellie nodded, looking over at Xavier for a moment. "It'll... it'll look suspicious if I return with my heart," she said hesitantly, offering it to him with her palm up. "Hold onto it for me?"
The little golden heart seemed to shimmer in his hands and she gave him a small smile. "Thank you." She turned her head to look at Scarlet. "It was good to meet you, Ma'am."
"Nice to meet you as well," she said quietly, watching her go before turning to Xavier. "Are you kidding me? And you can't even let talk to a guy normally, much less do it without breaking into his house and forcing him out." Xavier frowned. "Sorry.."
Cyril open the door, his helmet under his arm as he came to attention. "You wanted to see me, my lord?"
The king was a somber man, his eyes downcast. Legend had it that the man was once enthusiastic and full of life, but the death of his wife had lowered him deeply. However, he sat up when he saw Cyril, dropping his hand. "Ah, yes... Cyril, I have a mission for you."
He sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "They should be here right about now..." Ellie entered the room, knocking on the door. "Hello, sir." The King brightened slightly, standing up. "Ellie. Come here for a moment." She approached, looking at Cyril curiously. "Cyril, this is Eleanor, my daughter. She spends hours on end exploring the city and the areas upon our perimeter. She has survival skills that she has acquired over the years." Ellie hesitated, giving him a small smile. "Good to meet you."
"I suppose so," she said uncertainly, looking over at her father. He nodded slowly before there came a small knock on the door. When given access, Burke opened the door, frowning slightly. "Hello," he said, looking at the three of them. The King gestured to him. "Ah, yes. This is Jedidiah Burke. He will also be accompanying you."
"He was attacked by two of the main thieves. He also is a blacksmith and is well acquainted with weapons."
