He smiled, holding her close as he began to drift off. *** "Thank you," she said warmly, turning to face him. "I really love it."
It didn’t take long for her to follow. *** “I’m glad,” he said, straightening the locket. “It looks lovely on you.”
Xav slept with his arms around her, his face buried in her shoulder. He slowly woke, his eyes fluttering open. *** She paused, a hint of playfulness coming over her expression. "To the kitchen then?"
Her head was resting against his chest and she was fast asleep. * * * He stood up, offering a hand. "Sure."
He kissed the top of her head gently before carefully getting up, moving to get her breakfast. *** She took it and casually went to the kitchen where she poured hot chocolate nonchalantly. He would see something green above the door. It looked like mistletoe.
She stretched out as he left, her arm over her eyes. * * * He glanced up before laughing, his shoulders shaking with the action. "You were really sure that heart gift was going to work, huh?"
He came back a short while later with some tea and croissants, setting them on the bedside table. *** She looked over at him with a small smile and a raised eyebrow. "Did it not?"
She was sitting up in bed and her head snapped over to him when he entered. She relaxed, standing up. "You're still here... I thought you were a dream..." * * * He extended a hand to her. "No, it did."
He went over to her, kissing her cheek. "I'm here. Good morning." *** She took it with a grin, stepping closer to him.
She slipped her arms over his shoulders, watching him thoughtfully. “Good morning.” *** He looked down at her softly before kissing her, his hand coming up to cup her jaw.
She glanced over at the tray before looking back at him, her eyes soft with affection. "Thank you." * * * He pulled away after a moment, watching her with a playful, earnest smile on his lips. "I'll make sure to remember that this time."
He nodded, lying back. "Of course." *** She laughed slightly, picking up the two cups of hot chocolate, offering him one. "I don't think I could forget."
She looked over at him before going over to the closet, opening the door. "I have a gift for you," she said. * * * "Are we drunk?"
She nodded going into the closet before pulling out a gift wrapped in silvery paper. *** He considered her, leaning back and sipping his cocoa. “This feels weird...”
He looked up at her, his head tilted before he got his gift for her. *** She looked down at the cup. "The cocoa?"
She offered him the package, her brows furrowed worriedly. * * * "Nah. This..." He gestured between the two of them.
