Ugh, feels like it's happening to everyone. My parents aren't feeling too great themselves, and when I called my boss yesterday, he admitted the same thing. I'm not feeling "feverish", per se, but my sinuses are going nuts, my throat's on the sore side, and I get these hacking coughs now and again. I've had to miss work the past few days, and given my low pay and the fact that I don't earn anything for missed work (with one exception), it's not something I like doing.
I'm lucky to have paid sick days, because it hasn't gone away. We'll see how it is in the morning. I'm taking meds to help keep it down or it would have been over 100F today. No coughing or sore throat, so there's that at least...
Thanks, Rock. Went in to work this morning, though I ended up taking the rest of the day off. I'll definitely have to go in tomorrow; my boss has a real estate closing, and I have to be on hand to cover the phones. I want to say things are trying to get better health-wise, but things haven't run their course yet. ---- Also, I feel like I should clarify what I meant by that "one exception" in my last post. Back in 2020 when I first got myself tested for COVID, the medical center recommended that I keep myself isolated for a week or so. My boss didn't like the fact that I had to miss work for that, so when I submitted my time sheet at the end of the month, he gave me full pay for the time I missed.
I have a good boss, talked with him this morning. I said if there was anything urgent I could log in and try to help. He said they were okay and my backup hadn't said anything. He said to take time off until I'm better. This should be the normal for everyone.
One of the marks of a good job is a good boss. Personally, I like the fact that my boss doesn't really care what I do with my time, just as long as I get everything finished when it needs to be. (Just as well, considering the lulls in the real estate market around here.)
No, there was still a few hours left. Good thing, 'cause I didn't really want to be the winner twice in a row. >^_^<
I just started feeling better today. Viral gastroenteritis is no joke. That sucked. I can't remember the last time I was that sick.
I have not been sick, just there hasn't been that much going on here lately so I forget to stop by, sorry.
That's fine. Been fighting a headache a decent chunk of the day, so I'm not in much of a talkative mood.
