So Harry Potter & the Sorcerer's Stone was on and they gave out the silliest detentions. Your punishment for going out at night and hanging out with Hagrid is... to... go out at night and hang out with Hagrid. Wait. What?
Not too familiar with the series beyond a bare-bones understanding of the plot. That sounds funny, though. Also, I happened to see King Kong mentioned on the previous page, and I figured I might as well embed this.
Yeah, let's punish the kids for doing something mildly out of line by sending them into a life threatening situation.
Nah, although he is an idiot, as if just about every headmaster. I mean come on kids can get lost on the changing stare ways, why does that need to exist other than to show off that the school is magical?
Yeah, and Dumbledore was about as hardheaded as he was powerful. If Hogwarts was supposedly the safest place in the world then it's a wonder that it had been there for as long as it has.
I remember thinking to myself, "Yes!" when a teacher sarcastically asked Harry if he needed a map to find the classroom... The castle is a maze, everyone should be given a map!
Eh, I'm sure it's one of those things that makes more sense in-universe than out. And even if it's not, I don't pay much attention to Harry Potter beyond the odd bit of fanfiction, so I'm not going to dwell on it.
Yeah, there's a lot of moments like that. Like how Aragog was going to let the other spiders eat Harry and Ron even though he knew they were friends with Hagrid. Like he wasn't going to find out and be extremely pissed about it?
They have a truth telling potion and almost never use it. It would have resolved so many issues. But it also would have made the stories a lot shorter... They should have never introduced it or explained a good reason for them to not use it.
I saw there is this new show Young Jedi Adventures with Yoda teaching a bunch of kids to be Jedi. I didn't watch much, but it made me wonder.... If they stick to canon, is the series finale going to be what I think it's going to be?
How does Star Wars make such mediocre movies and such awesome cartoon shows? I just finished Rebels and it really was excellent. Chopper truly is the best droid(at war crimes). Actually, most of what they do are war crimes... Anyways, has anyone watched Resistance? It would be my next one but that era of it is kinda bleh...
Someone recommended this show on MAX, Scavenger's Reign. I watched it. Ugh. It was like they had several options for each problem and they ALWAYS chose the stupid one. They were trying to survive on a planet they crash landed on and they do exactly the opposite of what you should do in survival situations. They survived only because of {insert plot reason}. If they weren't dumb, they were horrible people. There wasn't anyone I liked and by the end I was actively rooting for the planet to kill them. The robot was the only one that had endearing qualities. The robot. Oof. So, yeah. Skip this one.
