Sure it does, have you ever walking onto the Travel Capsules that are littered about the place? - - Auto Merge - - I'm surprised the number of people here who have seen Red Dwarf.
Well I don't know about over there, but it's still on some biggish channels a fair bit over here. Also, some of the actors in it still have fairly prominent roles in our television programmes. Have this!
You missed season X? How dare you call yourself a fan! jk. Yeah there was a season after Back to Earth. Was Back to earth four parts or two?
Well, I never called myself a fan as such; like I said, it's on quite a bit over here, and I watch it sometimes. Though now that I think of it, I think I do remember watching a few episodes of season X. Oh, and apparently Back to Earth was three parts, so we were both equally right :derpe:
Um TDR, I'm sorry but that sig is kind of headache inducing. Anyway sorry for the accusation. Series X picked up as if the show never stopped and was pretty awsome, which is why I'm hoping they do more. Craig Charles still looks young enough to play Lister.
Yeah the sig is a bit much isn't it? kind of draws you in... I should probably try and watch them in order at some point, I've mostly just seen disjointed episodes. And yeah, they could all probably still get away with doing more episodes age-wise, although it might be quite difficult to explain exactly why a hologram is ageing...
Why would it matter? It seems logical that a sentient holographic AI would be able to alter its own appearance.
Actually he can't. He can get the ships computer to change his appearance, but he has never been able to alter it himself. As far as the aging and getting fat goes, the hologram was meant to simulate him still being alive.
Is the latest Holly a guy or a girl? I forget... - - Auto Merge - - Pretty sure he was the last member of the ship's crew to die, and was brought back as a hologram, so his conciousness is still technically human? - - Auto Merge - - Uh, Holly is the ship's computer, sorry if that caused any confusion.
The last Holly was male, but like in Back to Earth, Holly wasn't in series X. I don't think Rimmer was the last to die, Holly brought Rimmer back cause he was the crew member most likely to keep Lister sane. In red Dwarf every crew member has there personality backed up so if they die a hologram can continue their work. However Red Dwarf could only create one hologram. Normally the most important crew member to the mission is the hologram. As stated above Holly the ship's computer chose Rimmer out of the entirety of the dead crew because he thought Rimmer would be the best to keep Lister sane.
Yep hated each other's guts, but because they talked Holly though Rimmer was the best man for the job.
I just watched the first episode. Pretty good. "The show was mediocre, but I liked the design of the ship." "I did not. A starship should be graceful and elegant. The Red Dwarf is neither."
The ship changes later but then goes back to that. So you hadn't seen the show before but were familiar with the characters?
