Ninjakitty is correct, but how the hell does a cartoon cat know so much about galactic politics? Also, there is no chance of the Republic attacking the Matriarch. "The Armiistaan Empire has an uneasy truce with the Galactic Republic. They know that we would decimate them in open combat, so they would never dare take military action against my people. At the same time, Armiista has many trading partners in the Republic. Any untoward actions we take in Republic space puts us at risk of trade sanctions."

Pfft.... The Armiistaan's haven't heard of the Kalboth then. Of course, the Ryborians were apparently at the pre-industrial age before The Great Collapse occurred almost two million years ago. Had this event never happened, the Armiistaan's would had been curb-stomped into non-existance. Yet again, the two races could have found a way for peace to occur. We might never know.
Know what scares me more than the Armistaan military? Shippers. The only thing I have ever "shipped" were my own characters. Once. It made me feel strange and wrong after a while.
