"What's a Batman?" Batman is a superhero that made his first appearance in Detective Comics #27 in 1939. Batman is the secret identity of Bruce Wayne. Bruce witnessed the murder of his parents as a child and he then leads him to train himself to physical and intellectual perfection and don a bat-themed costume in order to fight crime. He does not possess any superpowers; he makes use of intellect, detective skills, science and technology, wealth, physical prowess, and intimidation in his war on crime. Oh, and he is unbelievably badass. Like the time he defeated Super-Martians Who Kicked the Rest of the JLA's Asses Single-Handedly and that as an incredibly old man, absolutely destroyed Superman.
