Eh. I like most of the recent actors to take on the role, but they've never really inspired me to watch it. Besides, I sort of doubt he would go for it; I've never heard that he's a great fan of Doctor Who, and it's not like he needs the money...
Well he's already been in several iconic programmes, and he has other interests he's pursuing, like his music career. I think he's been taking a break from acting since House, because it basically took up about six years of his life, so I'm not sure he'd want to go into another long-ish role either. The money side I only bring up because Tony Robinson has been trying to get another series of Blackadder together, and he said the only major problem was Hugh's salary, and I think he was only half joking. I'm not saying it won't happen, it just doesn't seem to me very likely.
Are you sure you're British? I was under the impression that watching Doctor Who was required by law over there. You know, like drinking tea every day.
