I've never seen the first or second one honestly. The third one is the only one I've seen.

Seriously, though.

I can understand enjoying T3 if you never saw the first two, but compared to them, it's not very good.

Also, the American equivalent to the 18-certificate is the "R," or "Restricted" rating.

 

I thought it was, but then I got confused, thinking R was the highest, which I now remember is X.

Also, the double face palms have technically been quadrupled, which reminded me of this:

 

The X rating doesn't exist anymore. It was replaced by the NC-17 rating

G - General Audiences - All ages
PG - Parental Guidance Suggested - Not for young children
PG-13 - Parents Strongly Cautioned - Not for children under 13
R - Restricted - Not for children under 16
NC-17 - No Children Under 17 - No children permitted

There's also the the XXX rating, but that's an unofficial rating used exclusively for pornography.

• PG - Not going to explain this one
• 12A - Similar to PG13
• 12 - 12 or older
• 15 - 15 '' ''
• 18 - 18 '' ''
• R18 - Never actually seen it, but apparently it exists

Terminator's usually an 18 here though, which I would have thought would equate to NC-17 rather than R...

 

I have yet to see a film with the R18 sticker on it, although I saw the sticker on a shop window one time...

It say for use in "Licensed premises only", so I assume it's for public skin flicks, rather than DVDs or the like.

I am often surprised by what manages to get what certificate sometimes though. Graphic violence, strong language and drug use only seems to earn a 15 a lot of the time...

 

Yeah, it's reserved for pornographic DVDs. Some cinemas play films with that rating, but only if they have a license to do so.

Agreed. Ever see Watership Down? There's a lot of violent imagery in it, and that got a U rating.

 

That's because kids are desensitized to that sort of thing nowadays.
