    That was much better, but still actually lacks true sting, due to the fact remaining, "dumb" can only refer to animate objects as it references a lack of intelligence. A face is, on its own, inanimate and as such lacks the capability of being smart or dumb, since it has no capability of being intelligent or otherwise.

    Perhaps you are using it, believing it to be synonymous with "ridiculous" or "silly" which refer to details an inanimate object can actually have, such as appearance or structure. It is not, however, synonymous in this case, and is this inaccurate.
