Narrowleaf grabbed him by the tail. He put the young pegasus in his mouth, a loud crunch silencing the crowd. "I warned 'im."
Brisk stopped, in shock. Her ears went down, and she stepped forward. "Ponies.." she said, quietly, but none listened. "PONIES!" she called, louder, and they turned. Flitter joined her, looking melancholy. "Must we end this in this way?" asked Brisk sorrowfully. "We are all alike. Ponies, in one way or another."
"Nice." Bolt said to Narrowleaf. "I'll deal with the rest of them!" Bolt said, his horn igniting. "Unless they all want to go home and embrace the fact that the Timberwolves may kill some, but they will protect all of us in times of need." Bolt hinted to the crowd.
"Wait...fine Flitter. But you two back up and get behind us so we can protect you and not have to attack first." Bolt said. "No matter how much I want to..."
Flitter's horn glowed, and she levitated the broken, dead colt. "Excuse me." she said sadly, and trotted away, presumably to bury him. Brisk looked after her, and nodded. "Ponies..." she began. Her horn glowed, and she transformed into a timberwolf. She walked forward, and her voice came out. "We are just like you. We do not kill for benefit. Tell me, is it any different from those who fish in the river? Except there is more benefit..." she said, trailing off. Then she shook her head. "No. That will not satisfy you. Imagine, for a moment, not having control of yourself. Nothing. Would you expect others to blame you?"
Bolt went off after Flitter. "Listen...I wasn't really going to kill anyone. I may have scorched them if they tried to touch you, but not like Narrowleaf did. So I hope you aren't mad at me..." Bolt said, explaining himself for no reason.
Flitter simply wiped her eyes, and finished digging. She laid the poor filly in the grave, and place the dirt back over him. Finally she looked at him, tears in her eyes. "What if that had been ours? One of our own killed it. Do you think that if it continues like that, there will ever be peace? Our kind killed a child. If that were me, I would never.. ever forgive them." The crowd shook their head, and grumbled. They trickled away, angry.
"..And remember everypony, I'm not royalty. If any of you even thinks about turning against us, I will personally rip you to pieces." Narrowleaf said.
"You're right. It's my job...I'll make sure Leaf is punished...Come with me when you're ready." Bolt said, offering his hoof to Flitter. He flew up in front of Leaf and brutally struck him in the face with his horn. "You're a bastard, and I can't believe it took Flitter telling me to my face to see what you just did. GET UP!" Bolt said. "Imagine that was me. Imagine the child, belonged to you and Brisk. Would you have wanted that to happen, Leaf?" Bolt said, looking disdainfully at Leaf.
Brisk looked down, but stepped in front of Narrow. "Bolt, please. Flitter wouldn't want this. Just.. you're not going to bring that baby back. Stop." Flitter flew over, and blinked, horn glowing. She warped back to yet another version of herself.
Bolt tackled Leaf. "AND LAST TIME I CHECKED, YOU WERE ON THIN ICE WITH ME! YOU'RE GONNA FEEL SOME FIRE, PUNK!" Bolt yelled, whipping leaf with flames from his horn.
"Stop it!" they cried in unison. It appeared that their connection hadn't worn off completely yet. Flitter took control. "This is how it happened the first time. We do not threaten.. That is not who us four are." "That is not what we are to each other." added Brisk. Brisk ran over to Narrow, getting frayed in the process. The same with Flitter, but with Bolt.
Bolt got up, breathing heavily. "Well, when an arrogant ass tries to act higher and mightier than me, I like to show them why I'm the prince and I'm in charge. You listen to me Narrowleaf. These people are my responsibility, as well as Flitter's. You either control yourself, or I'll split you into a wolf spirit and a regular spirit, and kill the wolf. You have one chance, you hear me, farmboy? I like to do what's right, even if I have to sacrifice things. Believe it or not, the greater good is more important than bloodlust. And I did trust you, but you've shown me that while you have this bloodlust, I simply can't."
"Maybe I stepped out of line. But I... I'm clearly haunting somepony. Why else would I be here?" Narrowleaf replied, trying to keep his cool.
