"How come you didn't let me buy you any jewlery?" Bolt asked, once Flitter had landed. He took out a red and black amulet in the shape of a heart. The heart was small enough to be discreet. "I got you this...just because I felt wrong not getting you something." He said awkwardly.
"I'm smart enough to know that you not liking shopping doesn't mean you don't like getting things. And I really enjoy seeing the look on your face when I get you things." He said, hugging her back. He leaned in by her ear. "I'd probably pay anything to see you smile if you hadn't for a long time." He whispered.
Bolt laughed and walked slowly, Flitter's hoof still in his hand. "Let's go hit a restaurant...I'm starving!" He said, laughing.
Flitter nodded, a smile on her face. "Thank you. " she said, quietly. "What's on your mind?" Brisk asked.
As they walked, Bolt turned to Flitter. "Was that too much?" He asked, turning a corner towards the restaurant.
"Well, how old are you really?" asked Brisk, questioningly. "What do you mean? The necklace?" asked Flitter in confusion.
"Yeah...and you know...the compliments. I forgot you didn't really like me telling you how great you are. Or at least you seem embarrassed when I do it." Bolt replied.
"I stopped paying attention a few decades ago... But I'm 1,300 years old." Narrowleaf responded. "So I'm the oldest. And smallest."
She stared at him for a moment, then laughed. "Wow. I expected something like, 'as old as the world itself.'" she said, still laughing.
