"What the buck Leaf? We used to hang out all the time as kids. We used to be best friends, Leaf. Why are you shutting me out like this?!?" Bolt asked furiously, accidentally telling Leaf of a past he didn't yet remember.
"That's impossible. Your mother wasn't even born when I was a child. Bolt... I know my own bucking past. Now get away from me. I want to be alone." Narrowleaf said.
"You pretended to be a thirteen year old filly when I was born. I was disgusted by the new you. So much I was ashamed of knowing the old you. So for my friend, I'll save Brisk even if he's so unappreciative I have to do it myself." Bolt said. He focused his mana, his eyes losing their pupils and glowing blood red. One began to glow blue. "Leaf...I know she's okay. She is saying it. See her blue? That one is Brisk." Bolt consoled Leaf. He blinked, and his eyes returned to normal.
The humming in the forest increased as if it heard the two bickering. Then, abruptly, it cut off. An eerie silence. The forest was toying with them.
The forest froze. Then, an abrupt chatter erupted. The trees moved in aggregation. "Sprite?" "They know?" "Ssssss.."
The voices cut off, and the humming returned. There was no answer. There was the shift again, deep in the forest.
Bolt sensed Flitter. She thought he was dead. She was dying herself. He flew home. He darted through the window. Star ran up and pointed at Flitter, while wrapping his leg in a warm hug. Bolt walked up to Flitter. "Honey...I don't know if you hear me...but I'm here. I'm okay. Death wants another soul in exchange. He won't let you die. He burns for that filly. Please...wake up." He begged, voice cracking at the end.
Flitter heard the voice. "Hello?" she called in the unconsciousness. A giggle erupted from the forest. Then, a group of laughter.
