Brisk sat once again at the table. Her horn sputtered in it's ever-glowing glow. Her pupils dialated, and she saw.. Brisk was arguing. "I'm not a changling!" with Bolt... Was that... Celestia? Brisk resumed her sight. Her breath was in short gasps. She turned to the door, and then shook her head.
Narrowleaf sighed. "I'll go look in Brisk's house. Stay put, Bolt." Leaf smirked "I think I-I got t-this." He slowly crept into Brisk's home, quiet as can be. "Damn." He whispered to himself , "Why is it so dark?"
Brisk's eyes lost their pupil as the vision increased power. Her horn began to glow with more intensity.
Bolt followed Narrowleaf into Brisk's house, tears rolling from his eyes because of the flashback to the incident. "Brisk!" He called.
"B-B-Brisk...?" Narrowleaf was genuinely terrified. "Where... W-where are-" He saw her, horn glowing and pupilless. Of course, he ran out screaming his head off.
Brisk heard none of them. A small humming came from her chest, not in Brisk's voice, but something darker, but happy. It was then she fell to the floor.
Narrowleaf was too busy screaming and flailing to notice the humming. He flew out the door, rear first. He let out a faint whimper, and got into a fierce coughing fit. "It's okay... I'll manage." He murmured at Celestia.
Bolt took a far different approach. He tackled Brisk, yelling "Snap out of it!!!!! We're here now!!!"
Narrowleaf took a deep breath and rushed in, to grab Brisk. Due to his small size, he struggled to even crawl, but he slowly brought her out. When he got out, he collapsed. He rose, but fell again. Leaf tried to get up once more, but snapped his leg. He kept going, gasping for air. Eventually, his already snapped leg broke a second time. He rolled out from under Brisk, took a step, and fainted from his lack of any real sleep. And he had the nightmare that has been haunting him. Again.
Bolt felt alone. Weak. His friends were useless. And that's when she came back. Chrysalis. Why couldn't only the good survive for once? Chrysalis: Well if it isn't little Fire Bolt. I thought I broke you last time. Shame I have to kill you to get to Brisk. Without her, I can't complete my spell and bring Discord back to my side. Bolt's irises flames, fire pouring from his eyes. He was losing it.
"Bolt... Calm... Down..." Narrowleaf was half asleep. "Brisk... Are you..... Awake...?" He started to moan in pain. "Ugh... I... Can't... It... Hurts..." Narrowleaf stopped moving. He passed out because of the pain.
Brisk stood up, and place a comforting hoof on Bolt's shoulder. Her horn glowed, she walked up to Chrysalis. "I mean it. Get back." she said. When Chrysalis didn't move, Brisk looked at her, and the tip of her horn began to change color. "You know what I am capable of. You wouldn't want me otherwise. So, I say, get back."
Bolt didn't hear Narrowleaf. He only heard the words of Chrysalis, mocking him. "Brisk, take Narrowleaf and run far, far away. If I'm not there soon, then worry. I'll have this scum taken care of in a matter of minutes." Bolt said, the fire raging from his eyes. Chrysalis: I'd like to see you try, you hot-headed murderer!
Bolt charged. It was the fastest charge he'd ever done. He heard the voices. The stallion he'd killed trying to go for Discord, the laughing of Chrysalis, Discord's taunts. "I'LL KILL YOU! YOU'RE GOING TO DIE A SLOW, BURNING DEATH CHRYSALIS! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!" Bolt said, charging so fast, that something happened. A sonic boom. He'd never done one before, but this one was bad. Fire spewed everywhere, and Bolt slammed into Chrysalis, pinning her into a tree.
Brisk screamed in pain, and fell to her knees. Her coat caught fire, and tears leaked through her eyes. She barely managed to put the fire out, and lay her head on the grass.
"No... Brisk... Bolt... D-damnit!! No!" Narrowleaf charged at Chrysalis, hooves ripping apart the charred earth with ease. "FIGHT ME, COWARD!!! I'LL KILL YOU!!" He yelped.
Bolt got there first, ripping more holes in Chrysalis's torn up mane and horn. "THE MORE THE MERRIER, THAT'S YOUR RULE HUH, CHRYSALIS? HOW DO YOU LIKE BEING OUTNUMBERED?!?!" Bolt screamed. Then Discord flew by. That was the end of reasoning. Bolt flew off past Discord, trusting Chrysalis to Narrowleaf and praying silently that Brisk was alright. Discord turned to face him, and a look of despair crossed his face. "Please, don't kill me! Please!!" Discord screamed. Bolt hesitated.
