Snow was panting in an alley when she heard the scream. She decided to check it out, ready to defend herself against any attacker when she saw that one pony, Edge talking to another pony, a unicorn from the looks of it, but with strange bumbs where wings would go, like a magical experiment gone wrong. She trotted towards the two, Maybe this town isn't so deserted after all, she thought.
As the pony she had just went to greet trotted back the way she'd came, Haze was left even more confused. She followed, wondering what on earth was happening.
Before meeting up with Edge and the other pony next to him, Snow got the strange feeling somepony was following her. Her whipped around and reached out with her horn. She grabbed a pegasus trying to follow her, and after seeing that the pegasus presented no immediate danger, she dropped her, "Sorry, a bit edgy. Anyways, I'm Snow Mark and its a pleasure to meet you." she said extending a hoof.
Zephyr emerged from long winding road that stood before Ponyville. His navy blue mane was pulled back under the weight of the goggles strapped casually around his head and his face had clearly visible traces of dirt on it. Slung over his back was a shabbily made, ratty-looking knapsack; one he had made himself while out between towns. The sun beat down on his face making it difficult to see. Stopping for a moment, he pulled his goggles down over his eyes, which then made his hair fall down over his eyes. Blowing the hair out of his face, he marveled at the town that stood in front of him with a look of hope present in his face. This was the town that he would now call home. Pulling the goggles back up to his forehead, which also brought his hair back too, he continued trotting down the road and into the town. Lost in his thoughts, he mindlessly wandered around the town before stopping in the center and coming to a horrible realization. "What now?"
Picking herself back up, Haze responded. "Whatever... I'm Haze Drift" She replied, brushing the dust off her coat. "What's happening here? Where's everypony disappeared to?"
"I don't know either. In fact, I just got here from Canterlot, though not quite everyone is gone, there a few others still here." She responded.
They began towards the group again, consisting of the dark pony, and a navy blue pony she hadn't seen earlier. Where had this pony came from?He wasn't around earlier, as she had spied them. As they trotted on towards the group, Haze asked Snow "What are you doing here all the way from Canterlot?" She was suspicious- Her arrival at this time cannot have just been coincidental.
"It's a long story, but to put it short, I was a pupil of Celestia herself and then I let my emotions get the best of me. In Canterlot Castle, let's just say there's a crater instead of a tower now and leave it at that." She said.
Edge looked to see that Snow had brought another pony he turned around and waved, he looked familiar maybe a costumer or something but he did look familiar he got to Snow and asked "Are there any more ponies you could find?".
"Nope, this is the only other one." She lied, "I still just don't understand what happened, its like everypony in Ponyville just suddenly vanished." she told the small group.
Zephyr listened in on the conversation of the group that he was suddenly now apart of without realizing it. 'Nopony in Ponyville?' He thought to himself. 'I would pick the ghost town to settle in.' Then a thought occurred to him. He leaned into the group with a smile. "Well if they want to hide, what's stopping us from finding them?"
Rashall stood on a nearby roof overlooking the trio. "Now then running away is one heck of a way to greet a new friend don't you think?" says Rashall from the roof.
"Alright, I have a wierd feeling about this. We need to spread out and try to find clues about what happened. Alright, we will meet back here in two hours with all that you can find! No go!" and the small group split up to scour the town for clues.
Haze went to the west of ponyville, finding herself at a library. She used to read a lot from this library, and it had all the info she had ever needed for her projects and such. Surely it'd have something on what might have occurred here... As she entered, she noticed how much more dull this place looked. The colours from the book covers had faded, and the title on the spine had disappeared. Looks like it'll be a tough search...
Snow went out to the edge of the town, maybe if they left as a group, they would leave a trail in the dirt, she thought.
Edge backed up a little to the surprise he saw another pony Edge waved at the pony and suddenly heard his question "hiding? no pony is hiding they just disapeard," he said. He looked at the pony and suddenly heard a pony on the roof he looked up quickly and saw another! pony! When he had heard his question he was completely confused he sat down on the ground and looked at the group. He then heard Snow say something about spreading out he sighed and ran towards Sugar Cube Corner for clues and a snack.
haze made out the text on one of the books; it read "Canterlot Curses of the Allicorn kind". She remembered how Snow was sent here by Celestia (herself), and flipped open the book to see whether this could have been the doing of the Princess. However, what she found in there was less than helpful. As she scanned through the book, she saw not a single word, nor picture. It was full of blank pages, and of no use to her. Frustrated, she slammed the book down, facing upwards on a table. Her mind boggled, She picked up another book at random, and scanned through that- Nothing! She went back to the table, and placed the other book next to the other, thinking about what could have happened...
Snow checked every feild surrounding Ponyville, no sign of massive exodist or other mass movement. No trampled grass, no belongings left in a hurry, nothing at all. It was like everypony in Ponyville literally DID disappear where they stood. She sat pondering what could have happened.
Zephyr shrugged and did what the snow white unicorn said. Just standing around gawking at each other wasn't going to solve anything. Flapping his wings he hovered above the ground keeping a steady altitude and began to drift off toward the Southern side of the town. As he hovered along he looked down alleys, he peered into nooks and crannies, and he even shamelessly peered inside of a few windows. Each however proved fruitless in the end. Continuing around through the town and looked down at his shadowed and gazed at it for a moment before it captured his imagination. His wings ceased flapping and he dropped to the stone road, purposely landing with a hoof inside the lines of each stone. He trots on down the road playing this game with himself mindlessly paying no mind to the task at hand. Through this game of his, he had managed to wander from a side street located near the center of the town, to a desolate road that only had a few wooden fences and trees scattered about to compliment it. Lost in his own world, Zephyr continued to step along down the road until he realized it had reached it's end; the stone being replaced by dirt. Zephyr was a bit disappointed to lose his toy, but his eyes were still set on the ground. He placed a hoof gingerly onto the road and down onto it's own shadow. Completely mesmerized by this, he began wandering off again down the road. For every step he took, his concentration would then in turn grow. He lowered his head a far as it could go near his hooves, he wanted to see what his shadow looked like the very instant it touched the ground, yet this task proved harder to accomplish than it sounded. Bumbling about he continued lowering his head muttering to himself. "Almost there... I can almost see it, almost..." He suddenly began to stumble as his sense of balance was thrown off by the shift in weight. He was falling over himself, yet his eyes were still fixed on his hooves; trying to accomplish his task even as he was moments from slamming into the ground. Though, while doing so, a thought came to him. He had wings, obviously. Zephyr adjusted his wings so that they had a backwards tilt and began flapping them, which proved successful as his balance was then regained. Giving out a small sigh of relief, he continued walking as he snapped out of his trance. Where had he gone during all of this. He looked backward as he walked, but didn't make it far as he slammed head first into the side of tree. He rubbed the side of his face and looked in front of him for once to meet what he had walked into. Irritated, he gave a small gruff of annoyance, but was cut off by an apple landing on his head. Picking it up in his mouth he looked at it awkwardly for a moment, deciding to hold it in his hooves instead to get a better look before taking a bite out of it. As he did, he looked around to see a sight to behold. This wasn't just a lone apple tree, he was in fact surrounded by them. Spoiler: Aww yeah!
Rashall flies down and stands next to the pony that is sitting on the ground. "Whats going on here?" he asks.
