Firebreeze lead them to the storage room, "Alright, I've spent a lot of my free time trying to open these damned things with decent success," He began, "But I very behind, we've got shelves and shelves of these supply boxes."
"Alright, I'm going to freeze as many of the locks as I can and you go around as quick as you can and tap the locks hard enough for them to shatter, okay?" Winter said.
"Alright, let's get started." Winter said, frost starting to pour off his horn and several locks suddenly being locked in basically an icecube.
Firebreeze began to smash the locks with the hammer, using great force, a little more force than necessary. "Arrows," Fire said, "I need you to look through these crates as we open them up. Get out the food and the water first, leave the weapons for me to deal with."
"Ok, I'm on it." Arrows looked through the crates and took out any food and water and left the weapons like Firebreeze asked.
After about an hour of work, they were able to open all the crates and move the food and water to storage. At the was left were the weapons. "So what do we do with these human weapons?" Fire asked Winter.
"Adapt them for our own use. Of course we unicorns will have the advantage, but we could make it work." Winter said.
"Alright," Fire said, "We can store these in the armory. I'll work on a shooting range soon. I don't have much else to do..." He then walked over to one of the boxes and pulled out a revolver, "You can head back to Snow if you'd like, Winter," He said examining the revolver, "I think I've got things from here."
Karls eyes shoot up and he jerkes up in bed. "Aaaagh, my head..." He rubs his head in pain. He had a big headache that wasn't gonna go away. "Where the bloody 'ell am i?" He looks around.
A nurse in the room in which Karl was in looked up to see him wake up, "Oh good, your awake, you have been out for quite some time. Now, we'll need to run some quick memory and sight tests before we can even think about releasing you, are you okay with reading some?" the nurse asked. After solving the lock problem, Winter had gone to take his place beside Snow. "I hope by the time he's old enough to start remembering things, this crisis will be solved." Snow said to Winter, "I know, I know." Winter replied forlornly.
Karl looked at the nurse with a pained smile. "Sure, i-i can do that." He answered. The headache was eating away at his head and his whole body ached like never before, usually he could brush off a pain wave with a smile, he could even take a battle full-on, but it seemed to change when his horn changed, the pain waves became more like deadly energy bursts, and usually he wouldn't recover after a week of only sleep. Lucky for him, the pain waves naver came during battle, but could come after, almost like a price for his effort.
"Alright, first we are going to make sure your visions still in order. Please read the letters aloud." The nurse said pulling down an eye chart about 20 feet away from Karl's bed, "And cover an eye with a hoof please."
Fire was busy putting away the weapons, when he decided the best place for a shooting range would be in the armory itself. He began to get to work.
Karl put a hoof to his eye and began reading the letters. "F B C B T E O B Z F E D O F C L T B T E P O L F D Z L P C T Z D B F E O..." He couldn't read the other letters because of the headache making him unable to concentrate. "Agh, this bloody headache is not making this easy!" He cried out. "Do ya have anythin' against headaches, Ms. Nurse?" He asked. He was gonna try anything he could to get rid this headache. (And yes, i took those letters from a actual eye chart.)
Arrows walked into the armory to see Firebreeze was setting up the range. "Mind if I help?" Asked Arrows. "My dad ran a shooting range that I worked in for some time. It'll be easier on the both of us."
Arrows nodded and separated the weapons into multiple piles, categorized by projectile or explosive. He then further separated them by type of projectile and explosive. "I got them categorized. Got any remaining boxes to put them in?" Arrows asked.
"Just put them on the shelves," Fire said, putting up the last sand bag, "There, the range should be ready."
