Karl was fast asleep, dreaming about everything you could dream about, and wasn't paying attention at all to his surroundings. He was happy, to say the least. Happy because he might just have found friends that he didn't need or want to kill. He was free for once. (As i said in the CS, Karl was designed to all the bad things a mercenary could do, but is after all his own creature so he won't kill anypony that to he wants live with or doesn't want to die.)
Firebreeze watched the flowers fade back to white. For some reason, it made him smile. He walked a bit farther away from the house and started to think about what he should do next.
Dark had returned to her quarters in the palace when a letter took form in front of her. She smoothed it open and read it, the body of the letter only had two words, I'm pregnant, which of course startled Dark so much so jumped into the air, slamming into the ceiling and crashing back down painfully. "Snow's...pregnant?" she whispered to herself.
"Hold here," says Rashall audibly yet in a whispered tone. "Aye holding, Rash we're still a mile and a half out? Whats going on," asks Ikan. "A little something down bottom, I think I'm not to sure. I'm going down to take a look around, tell Emerald Star and her Scorpions to make ready," Says Rashall turning and leaving the bridge. He smiles when he arrives at the main hanger to find the Scorpions of the Striking Shadows waiting for him. With no more than a whisper of air they board a waiting Chariot while Rashall and Emerald decid to fly down themselves while the other ten take transport.
"Ma'm!" a soldier's voice jolted Dark from her ponderings, "What is it?" she asked him. "Well, there's currently a large ship above Canterlot and, well that basically sums it up." he responded. "That would be Rashall Firemane." Dark said, slipping her Master Protector's helmet back on and she brushed past the soldier, quickly finding her way outside. She saw two ponies flying down from the ship and took off to meet them, as she knew one of them was going to be Rashall. It's what usually happens. She came close to the two and decided to pull a mock guard routine with them, she knew Rashall would reconize her immediately, her red eyes peicing from a black coat, and the other would more than likely be able to tell her extremely high rank from her uniform. "Halt! You have entered Canterlot airspace, you must immeditely undergo emergency security searches are face the consequences." She said, voice completely stable and neutral, but on the inside she was bawling from laughter.
"If it weren't for the serious nature of our business I would be laughing as well," says Rashall in way of greeting to Dark Emerald Star looked at Dark through the red tented lenses of her Scorpion mask. The other ten Scorpions had surrounded the area well and were well hidden no even a passing mouse would notice their pressence.
"So what are you doing." Dark asked, putting her jokes aside and slipping into command mode, "I request to know what you are doing with a full and armed military force inside my region of control."
"You know the politcal quandries here, I represent the Shadowed Forest and the lands beyond. I highly doubt you would do something to me knowing that there's a full legion of troops at my back that would tear down all of Equestria just to find me. As it is my business is just that mine you have not need to know," says Rashall looking Dark in the eyes.
"Look Rashall. We all know how big your military is, you boast about it every time we meet. But I must remind you, though you are a foreign dignitary here, I am considered higher in rank than you here and I have full security clearance to knowledge of all happenings within the Capital Region of Equestria. I just want to know what you are doing here with a whole flotilla of troops where it is unnecessary and what you plan to do. That is all." Dark said in complete seriousness.
"First time I've heard of three vessels, one capital and two cruisers, being called a flotilla," says Emerald Star speaking up for the first time. Rashall gave a slight smile he had been wondering when she would speak. His smile faded however when a small note entered his head, it was Blinkmoth he and his warp spiders had discovered that the spear had been moved and recently. "Tell me Dark do you know anything about a spear known as the Spear of Light?" Asks Rashall, Emerald looks at him in astonishment but he knows what he is doing.
"Um, yes, sorta. It's in our possession, it's just..." Dark said, rubbing the back of her neck. "Well, it's not here right now. You see, it is an item that the Royal Family doesn't trust enough to stay in one place for too long. So they designated several guardians, most of whom even I don't know of, and they randomly choose the next guardian. Really, I can only think of one guardian of the top of my mind, and that is Winter Warmth, Snow's husband."
"What if I where to tell you that the spear was put here by my mother until such a time that it is needed by me?" Says Rashall hoping Dark will weigh her words carefully.
"Um, ok? I don't see how that helps us at this moment. Oh, and speaking of Snow and her family, I have something you might want to see about them. I got this letter from Snow just before you arrived." Dark dug into her armor's pouch and holding the top of the paper in her mouth, showed Rashall the two worded letter.
"Heh send her my reguards, but seriously that spear belongs in the Tower of Angels in the Shadowed Forest. You see it's an ancient family heirloom thought lost long ago, " says Rashall, "Unless you want the Inquesition knocking at your door with the titan legions right behind I suggest you take it up with your superiors, I can grant you a few days of lee way but the other Eldar want that spear in my posession and I'm not sure how long I can hold them steady. The best I can give you is a week and a half."
"Well, I think I think we are in luck, all four rulers are here now, one of them should be able to tell you the Staff's current guardian."
"That's just it, the Eldar don't want me to interfere meaning that this meating is very secret the other counsles will arrive in a shorter amount of time than I have given you. I can have no claim in the fact that I told you otherwise the other Eldar would start to act suspicious of the Sar Neith, sounds odd I know but they have grown untrusting of us Sar Neith Eldar since we had the Shadowed Forest to fall back to. The other weren't as fortunate, though I'm hoping House Kruita will be there with their titans to maintian the . . . peace you could say," says Rashall.
Breeze was soon back at ponyville, walking through the plaza. This was where most of the war memorials were, the rough riders memorial among them. He walked over to the memorial of the Rough Riders, which he payed for himself, and began to read through the names of his fallen troops, which were carved into the sides of a stone cube. He made a habit of reading through all the 114 names once a month.
Karl stretched out his legs and opened his eyes to look at the blue sky. Popping his head up from the patch of flowers, he noticed that it was day. It had gone a week since he had "taken care" of recent target, and if he didn't another one soon, he was gonna have to face the consequences. He regained his footing slowly and looked around slowly. "Didn't i change the color of these flowers before?" he thought as he began moving his way to Snows houses front door, but just as he knocked upon it, he felt that familiar wave of pain started flowing through his body. He gripped the handle of the door tightly and begun sinking down as his legs became weaker and weaker fom the energy exhausted from taking in the pain. He tried to knock on the door again, but he had already begun passing out, leaving only a small, weak touch on the door. His vision started to grow darker and darker as he lost his grip on his consciousness. He uttered a quiet, "Help me..." before thumping down by Snows front door, completely unconscious.
Breeze ended up just sitting around in the plaza, not having half a clue of what to do. He looked up at the sky, lost in thought.
