As soon as Karl heard Earth, his eyes widened and his pupils shrank down to the size of a dot. His view had cleared up as faster than possible, he couldn't believe what he had heard. "Earth? Oh my, that's... i have to go." He said quickly and bolted off to the nearest door, opening it, running inside and shutting it within the blink of a second.
Tremalion took out a large scroll from on top of a desk he had just stopped at, "If my calculations are correct, from both using the royal observatory and using seers, we have three days maximum before the first ship arrives. Worst case scenario, they are already here." he looked to see that one of the Elements, Karl, had run off. "You do realize that is a broom closet correct?" he called.
"OH PONYFEATHERS!" he bolted out of the door and headed for the right passing by every single element. If you narrowed your eyes when he flew past, you were able to see that his iris colors had changed from a boring grey to a dark blue. He ran to the right door and did the same swift motion as he had done with the left one.
Tremalion facehoofed, "The only exit is at the front of the hall." He said, "But you cannot leave until you have been fully debriefed, so have the Storms decreed." Tremalion faced Firebreeze, "We shall do our best to fight them. Our best hope is to used the power of one, or maybe both sets of Elements to face the incoming fleet."
"Alright, so I've got three days to polish my armor, fix up my old flamethrower, and mentally prepare myself to fight in a maximum of three days? That's just fantastic..." Fire said.
Dark looked over at Firebreeze, "You think you've got it rough? I have to mobilize every military unit in the Capital region to be ready to fight a fight they are going to lose in that time!"
An explosion suddenly rocked the palace, the tremors it caused were large enough to cause some of the gathered ponies off their hooves. "Go! Now! Take the Ancients!" Tremalion ordered, pulling a simple box from the desk, "This contains all the Elements, but don't waste using them now, ok? Now go!" A massive wind swept through the room, blowing out all inside (Including you Karl) into the outside courtyard, were black and gold colored what looked like jets flew around at astronomical speed, firing massive bursts of light that exploded upon impact, taking out whole buildings in a single blow. Inside the Hall of Valor, Tremalion ran into the room Karl had been blown out off, wrapping a strange, swirling magical artifact in yet another layer of protective magic. "Oh Great Knowledge, reveal to me your secrets!" he called, and in a flash of light, both where gone.
A huge black shape dotted out the sun as it started to get closer to the surface, and several oval shaped objects were fired from it. Two landed in the plaza they were in alone, and out of each one, stepped ten strange bipedal figures completely covered in combat fatigues, brandishing advanced weaponry beyond the likes the had ever seen before. "Halt! You are now our prisoner! You shall be taking aboard the Man O' War: Liberty where you shall live the rest of the war!" said one in perfect Equestrian, though is voice sounded muffled and slightly electronic as it passed through their helmet filter.
"I'd like to see you try!" Firebreeze said as his mane and tail turned to fire, "I'll burn you all to a crisp!"
This was all happening rather too quickly. What the bloody heck was going on? There was lighting, the pony version of Zeus, random items in a box being handed out and now he had guns pointed at him. Guns of all things! Guns! Here! Where the most dangerous thing he was likely to have pointed at him was a cupcake. Why were they here again? What was he doing? Why now was he being threatened by a guy who seemed to be loving pointing a gun at things a little too much? Somepony had better give some answers when this is over... "Listen, mate..." Tyro replies, in English (although, has anyone ever figured out whether Equestria has it's own language?) "I might look fluffy but I spit fire and I've got quite a good shot from here. The guns lovely and all but...err" He raises a paw, sparking a small flame to ignite and just rest in the centre. "Your talking to creatures you thought were mythological when you left, I'm sure. So...Can we chat peacefully or would you want to be char-grilled by myself or by Rapidash over there?" He makes sure to push the "your-in-over-your-head" angle by laying a tail either side of him as he sits with a flame sitting in his paw. He was mostly grateful that the armour they were wearing wasn't purple.
The twenty creatures just stared, guns still aimed at the group, all emotion concealed by those masks of theirs. One snorted, "Wow, fire, so scary. We've come light years for this, you think a little fire paw is going to stop us? Open fire boys, set to stun." Right before they pulled their triggers, Snow yelled, "Cover your eyes!" The two legged creatures didn't get the message in time before being blinded by a massive flash of light. "Come on, the battle for Canterlot's hopeless, we need to get into the country!" Dark yelled over the sound of a nearby explosion as the two winged space jets tore through the sky.
"Even better!" Firebreeze said, examining the jets and the explosions. "Savages..." he said under his breath.
Dark motioned for the group to follow her, leading them out of the plaza just in time for the creatures to recover. She brought them to what looked like an ordinary ponyhole cover, but she lifted out of place saying, "The Guards have secret tunnels underneath all of Canterlot, I'll be willing to bet the remnants of the Guard are down here, but we must hurry before they are found!"
"Here goes nothing!" Dark Shine followed after Firebreeze before calling back to Dark. "What will we do once we get down here?"
