"Oh, this old thing?" he teased, pouring some batter into a black pan. "It's the newest craze. Everyone's adopting it."

 

"Hm, yes... it is quite difficult to achieve," he said haughtily.

 

"How many cakes do you want?"

 

"You're not sure? Make a guess."

 

"Alright," he said agreebly, turning back to the stove.

 

It seemed empty.

 

August glanced over.

"Oh, he left early this morning..."

 

"What?"

 

"He'll get over it, Aspen. You'll see."
