"Something like that," Eli said, exhaling slightly. "It's not something he can experience. It's nothing like anything he knows. It'd be too much for him."
"Because I know him, Price. I know him better than you ever will. You gotta understand this, okay? I'm his only family. I'm all he's got. I know he wouldn't be able to handle this."
He exhaled slightly, standing up. "He wouldn't know how to go about it anyway, so you don't have to worry about denying him or anything. He doesn't get it."
He nodded, stepping past them to go about his routine. "See you, Price," he said quietly, running off, heading down towards the forest.
He woke up about half an hour later, pausing as he made out his surroundings. "Huh," he said, sitting up slowly. "Sorry, Aspen. I got too close. You should have pushed me away."
