She shook her head, embarrassedly wiping her eyes. "I would never mean to.. I just.. I want to go home right now."
“Then go, Aspen,” he said tiredly. There was a moment of silence and he gestured to the door. “Go home. The world that we live in doesn’t have time for you. I can walk you back to the pod; I’m pretty sure those things have homing devices that can get you and Mo and Dali back to the Star.”
She nodded, doing what he asked. Upon taking one of her sweaters she found the ribbon August had set it in. She carefully pulled it out, setting it at the opening of his den. She then went to get Dali and Mo.
Dali had been powered down for a couple days, but this wasn't unusual. He often relied upon a charging dock, and if one wasn't available, he relied upon solar energy. Mo was asleep in his den, but poked his head up blearily. "What?"
Dali would not be able to move, but he would be easily transportable in his box form, dull and quiet.
The pod was where she had left it. Mo scuttled in first, familiarizing himself with the controls once again, and Eli looked at her with resignation.
