He shuddered, pulling her as closely as he could. She would be able to feel his bones under his skin as she hugged him.
His hands traced her face, brushing her bone structure and moving down to her neck, her waist, her hips. "I just see shapes at this point," he admitted. "Vague shapes and colors."
"I heard what happened," she said gently.. "I found Eli before I knew where you were and he told me what happened."
He looked troubled for a moment. "I wanted to start everything over. Combine personalities and make it so that we could coexist."
She pulled away, her hands trailing down his arms, going to hold his. "But it's the neighborhood, Aug.."
He looked insulted and confused, letting go of her hands. "I did enough for the Neighborhood. I have moved on to make the future better. I don't have an obligation towards them."
