She kissed below his earlobe, returning to his jaw slowly.

August was stretched out next to her, his head against her neck, fast asleep.
Aspen's arms were around him. She had fallen asleep as well, keeping close.
He shifted in his sleep, mumbling dryly as he wrapped his arms around her waist.
Her eyes fluttered sleepily as she woke, turning her head towards him.
His head was buried in her neck and he was still asleep.
She relaxed, keeping still so he could sleep.
After a while, he shifted awake, his eyes still closed. “Aspen...?”
Her eyes were closed but she murmured. "Mm?"
“Hi,” he murmured quietly.
"Hey," she said gently, her voice soft. "Sleep well?"
“Mmhm...” he said quietly sitting up slowly. “I’m sleepy.”
She rubbed his back gently before stretching. "I am too, a bit."
He stood up, moving slowly towards his desk. “You can keep sleeping. I have to go work.”
She turned over, watching him from the bed. "What do you have to do?"
“Talk to some of the scouts. Go out and have conversations with Pillagers. That sort of thing.”
"Can I come with?"
“No,” he said quickly. “That’s not safe.”
