She leaned her head against him, but didn't wake.
He draped an arm around her.
A few minutes later, her eyes fluttered open in confusion. "August..?"
He was quiet, clean and warm next to her. “...yeah, Aspen.”
She looked at him thoughtfully. "I'm sorry about earlier.. I haven't been the nicest towards you.."
He didn't say anything for a while after that, his brow furrowed.
She did the same, not wanting to push.
"Do you want to go to bed?" he asked after a while.
"Yeah," she said quietly, standing up and taking his hand, offering help.
He took it and stood, looking tired as they headed over to the bed.
She sat on the edge of the bed quietly.
He exhaled sharply as he laid down, taking deep breaths
She looked down at him, taking his hand and intertwining their fingers. "Are you okay?"
“It doesn’t feel great,” he admitted. “But I’m okay.”
She leaned down and kissed his forehead, saying nothing more.
He sighed, wrapping his arms around her waist.
"It'll heal quick enough," she said quietly. "Then it won't hurt."
“I hope so.”
She nodded, resting her arm under his chest. "It won't take long."
“It’s not a big deal,” he repeated quietly. “Everything’s okay.”
