She looked up, coming over and kissing his cheek. The bird, which was on his desk, chirped. "Would you take the bird? It could help if anything happens and I would feel better if you did.."
Late that evening, August had not returned. The members of the Fort appeared to be getting a little nervous, whispering to each other.
"Just on the patrols," Alma, a girl originally from the Pillagers said worriedly. "Just like he always does."
"You can't go by yourself," Alma protested, grabbing Aspen's hand. There came a large thudding from the main door, as if something had charged into it.
"No, no. We shouldn't go out yet." Another slamming came on the door, and the members gathered around the door, watching it anxiously.
