The one she had found earlier the week, the one that had caused Mr. Pemberly so much agitation, was back in its spot. The book was mostly unfamiliar tombs, but as she rifled through, she would see the strange writings beginning to fade into a language she understood. The first entry she would be able to understand was a mix of the languages. "... and I fear that the gates now lie under my protection... the amount of trust given to me is unbearable..."
The next entry was even more of her language. "The gates have finally been closed... I look around and realize I will soon be alone in this world, designated to take this secret to my grave... The caves have been shut off forever, and I hope that they never reopen."
He huffed slightly, sitting on his haunches. "God, Aspen. There's a world outside your own. You're trapped in here."
"Yes," he said with a sigh. "Yes. There's a whole world outside of Icarus and they all lied. They brought the secret to their graves and they lied and lied and lied."
He opened his mouth to speak and a spark flashed in his skull, lighting up the space behind his eyes. "Ugh! I can't tell you."
"I was one of them too." The spark lit up behind his eyes again and he muttered under his breath. "I can't give you full things..."
"You need to get out," he said sternly, raising a forepaw towards the Door. "Icarus isn't..." He huffed, sounding frustrated. When he next spoke, it sounded like he was choosing his words very carefully. "There was... an argument. A big argument. Okay? I can't say the word, but, like... an argument that's big and across nations. Got it?"
He nodded emphatically. "Right, yes. That. It was very big and there were... it was... a group of people... who didn't..." He huffed agitatedly. "This is so annoying!"
