Like Clockwork (For Stuffy)

It was pleasantly warm and August nodded.

"That's it."

 

It steamed in her mug, smelling vaguely fruity.

 

It was hard to describe, but it tasted almost tropical. It was immensely comforting, with flavors like raspberry and coconut and orange that warmed her from head to toe.

 

"Nah, I'm okay. Thanks, though, Pen."

 

He paused before reaching out and pulling a tray of porridge from the belt.

 

"Do you want any actual food?"

 

"If you say so."

 

He didn't notice, stirring his porridge.

There was a clunk as the pod locked in with Icarus, and August blinked, looking nervous.

"Are we good?"
