She pat his head. "That's okay. It might be brain freeze."
“It hurts.”
"It'll be gone in a moment."
He sighed, looking sad.
She frowned, her thumb brushing his arm. "You look sad."
"My head hurt."
"That happens when you eat cold stuff super fast."
"Can I eat my ice cream again?"
"You can," she said, having hers. "Just be careful."
"I'm not quite sure how I'm supposed to eat this."
"Just, like.. lick it?"
"Lick it? That seems weird."
She laughed slightly. "That's how you're supposed to eat it. Try doing that."
He frowned before doing as she asked.
She watched him thoughtfully as she ate hers.
"This is wild."
She laughed. "Do you like it better that way?"
"I don't get the hurt brain."
"Brain freeze."
"Brain freeze," he confirmed.
