"No," he replied, tilting his head. "The pod is built to drop from Icarus and return back to Icarus. That's it. You can't get it to bring you back to the Fort."
He looked annoyed, tilting his head. "Aspen, you're an engineer. Surely you recognize that there were no steering controls in the pod." August looked distraught. "You mean... we can't go back?"
"The pod was made to ensure that the original creators of Icarus could not return to their homes out of homesickness or worry. They had to wait a year."
She crossed her arms. "Because I thought you would allow me time to clear my head. I apologize I shouldn't have figured you cared that much."
She pressed her temple. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean that. I just.. I'm going to find a way to fix this. I have to."
He didn't reply, turning away from her and leaving the room through the doorway. August looked up at her. "Can we go back?"
"I'm going to find a way," she said, going over and taking out some mechanics. "Even if I have to build it myself."
