She frowned, kneeling down beside him as her hand brushed his side lightly. She gripped the bottom of his shirt gently, asking permission. "Let me see, Aug.."
It seemed like he understood her, nodding and lifting the side of his shirt. His recently sewn up side had been healing, but she would see new, ugly bruises had formed.
She looked upset. Sad that this happened under her watch and angry at the people who did this. She let him drop his shirt before putting his arm over her shoulders, supporting him. "Let's try standing this way.."
He shook his head no, reaching up for her tiredly. "Ny, ise previet nes?" he asked, sounding almost hopeful. "Zedette ve?"
He seemed content by this, almost relieved, and he wrapped his long arms around her, pulling her down to him gently so she would sit down next to him. His temple resting on the top of her head. "Syldir..."
His eyes fluttered open and his eyes rested on the dragon and he started, pulling Aspen down to him and shielding her with his body protectively.
She blinked, gently pulling away and resting her hand on his shoulder. "It's okay! It's okay.." she stood, going over to the dragon and patting it. "Safe!"
"We're going to use it to take us home," she said, gesturing with her hands. "Go home on the dragon!"
