He took it, standing up with a small frown. He wouldn't say it, but she would be able to see the disappointment in his eyes.
"Because you seem upset," she said, tilting her head. "And I could understand that you would want to be away."
He laughed, but it still sounded lonely and lost in his chest. "Aspen, in the matter of a few moments, you have become all I have. I don't want to be without you."
She held his hand, heading back. Eventually they arrived at the house again and Aspen sat on the couch with a frown.
She sighed, looking up at him decisively before standing. "Come on.. Let's go on a walk, or something."
