He headed deeper into the woods and eventually came upon a rock face covered in vines. He looked around before pushing some away, revealing a dar entrance.
The cave was surprisingly pleasant. It was lit by two torches on the wall. There was a table with random parts and a bunk bed on the far wall. Besides from that, there was a small woodstove and shelves everywhere. The boy went over to the desk and bent over a small device for a moment.
"No, it's not," Mo agreed. The boy came back over, his brows furrowed. He offered a small device to Aspen.
He eyed her momentarily. She would feel a small spark go through her fingertips and he raised an eyebrow. "Can... can you understand me?" His voice was cautious and quiet and on the lower side. It sounded as if it hadn't been used much.
He was quiet for a moment as he checked the door. "My name is August," he said after a moment. "And my friend is Eli. I gotta warn you, though, he probably won't want to see you."
She glanced at the door as well. "Oh.. I didn't mean to intrude. Our of curiousity, what's so bad out there?"
He laughed slightly. He had a nice laugh, but it didn't seem true. "Other people. Normally we manage okay, but there was smoke in the distance, which suggested a pillaging. Also, your little arrival would have drawn attention.
"Other people? Are they bad people? Are you bad people? -I mean person. A bad person. No, right? You're helping me?"
She nodded slowly. "I could use some water," she paused before turning to Dali. "And I need to fix you now."
