He nodded slowly, sitting down nervously, his brows furrowing. "Sure. I just hope it wasn't for naught."
The vines that were covering the entrance parted, and another boy entered the chamber. He had dark brown, almost black hair and tanned skin, with bright, piercing grey eyes. He was preoccupied as he entered, his voice rough in his throat. "August, something..." He trailed off, noticing the other people. "*squee!*. August, what did you do?"
"They fell from the Star, Eli," August said quietly, folding his hands. "They needed me." "Yeah? Well, the Pillagers are raking the area thanks to them. What were you thinking?" "They needed help." "And you just gave it to them?"
August looked lost. "They needed help," he said after a moment. Eli sighed, raising one eyebrow before turning to Aspen. "Who are you? Where are you from?"
He huffed before turning to August. "You realize that we won't be able to manage, right? We can't take these... these infants. I mean, no offense Price, but you have no idea how to survive in this world.
"Oh, no. You're completely right, honestly. Just the infant part is kinda.." she shook her head. "I could find a way."
She suddenly seemed self conscious. "Oh.. They're my friends. They've been helping me. This is Dali and Mo."
Eli looked unimpressed, although August eyed the spark curiously. "A defective robot and a rat. Great." "Excuse you," Mo protested.
"He is not defective," she said defensively. "He was attacked while we escaped the star and did it to protect me."
