They began to run, almost sprinting for a forest in the distance. After several minutes, they made it under the trees and Eli slowed. "I think we're in the clear," he said, hushed. "But keep moving. We need to evade the scouts."
Aspen was quiet, recalling the stories and books she read in the past that she was little reminded of. It was odd to be living it.
Eli led the group towards a large cliff face, his brows still furrowed with worry. "It's up this way a little. Can you all climb?" "I can take Aspen and Mo on my back," Dali volunteered.
"Maybe you should take Mo. I'll try it on my own so it should be a little safer." She frowned slightly. "Where are we going anyways?"
"We have multiple hideouts," August explained. "We have a general rotation schedule, but your arrival caused us to move out a little faster."
They began to climb, Eli taking the lead. It would only be few minutes before they came upon a ledge.
This cave was a lot larger. Eli lit a torch and placed in on the cavern walls. August went over to holes in the wall, laying out blankets for each person inside. "Aspen, how does Dali sleep?" "I power down," he replied. "I will not be needing a blanket."
