Like Clockwork (For Stuffy)

"Would he like to?" he asked, pulling some mugs out of the cupboard.

 

He considered this before glancing down.

"How... eh... how do I wake him up?"

 

Dali's eyes lit up and he unfolded.

"Good morning, Aspen, August, and Eli!"

 

"Of course," he replied, coming over to August. "What can I do?"

"Start with the bread, okay? Also, Eli, could you pick up some eggs?"

"Yeah," Eli muttered, heading for the door. "C'mon, Price."

 

He looked around when they exited before heading down the ledge.

"Stay close. It's slippery."

 

"We gotta gather supplies," he said flatly. "Food, blankets, clothes, stuff like that."

 

"Around. Left behind campsites, some ruins and the forest, generally."

 

"You're with me for today," he said, starting to climb down the cliff. "I'll show you the ropes."

 

"We'll see if you're a scavenger or a creator," he said with a shrug.

 

"Yeah, what August does. He scavenges too, but not for necessity."
