He knelt under a tree and began to dig. It wasn't long before he hit a wooden board.
"Is that it?"
"It's the door, yeah," he said, pulling a padlock out of the earth.
She watched curiously.
"C'mere for a sec, Price."
She came over. "Yeah?"
He was holding the lock and he turned it to four distinct symbols. "Remember these, okay?"
She nodded slowly. "I'll try."
"Good," he said, opening the hatch.
She watched again, kneeling down.
Steps led down into the musty earth. "After you," he said, gesturing.
She frowned before starting. "Looks ominous."
"It's just a shed."
"Still. Last time I went down a hatch it was after being attacked by a big mechanical monster.'
He laughed, expecting her to be joking. "Wait, seriously?"
She looked over at him. "Yeah!"
He squinted at her. "Someday, Price, you gotta tell me how you got out of there."
"I can tell the whole story. Maybe when we get back to the base."
He had to laugh. "A bedtime story?"
She grinned. "Maybe."
