He looked up in surprise, raising one eyebrow.

“What?”

 

He glanced over his shoulder and frowned.

“I couldn’t tell you,” he said lightheartedly. “I think my parents gave it to me. It’s always been there.”

 

He rested his head on his hand tiredly as August joined them at the table.

 

Eli glanced at the door thoughtfully.

"I might go out again tonight," he said.

 

"There's more stuff to be done. Besides, we haven't done any scouting recently."

 

He raised an eyebrow.

"Yes...?"

 

He laughed slightly.

"I can handle myself, Price."

 

He exhaled.

"Fine. Not tonight."

 

"But you're going to have to get used to this, Price. This is what I do."
