Aura? Essence? Those were terms Quickstar was unfamiliar with, and like all familiar things, they fascinated him. But then, he remembered the shy colt who had just said his parents were dead. The conflict between them was decided when his stomach chose that moment to growl loudly. "Well, what do you two say we go check out the refreshment table? I don't know about you two, but I've had a long day and I have yet to have dinner. I am famished!"
"thanks" said Tyler. He then decided to leave because he was feeling sick due to ponies talking to him however before he left he said to both of them "im sorry but I got to go I just dont feel well" And just like that he headed for the door.
Snow watched Ty nearly run out the door with concern, "I hope he's alright..." She mummered, "Anyways, I wouldn't suggest going to the refreshments area, that's where Pinkie usually is. Here, I brought some flowers to snack on." She said to Quickstar while producing 3 beautiful white flowers, "The White Hope, has been in my family for as long as I can remember, and we've done nothing but breed it to be the perfect flower. Beautiful, but nurishing, insect repllenet, yet pleasant to eat. I'll warn ya, it's pretty sweet and one flower should be more than enough."
Horticulture wasn't Quickstar's area of expertise, but he wasn't going to turn down an offer that would keep him away from Pinkie. As he tasted one of the petals, he found it to be just as delicious as Snow had promised, and surprisingly filling. He'd have to look into Tyler later, see if he could get to know that pony better, but for now, there was a mystery that he was facing. "So...aura? Essence? Is this some kind of magic I'm unfamiliar with? I'd love to learn more about it."
"Hm, your the first pony to really be interested by my particular...magical talents since Twilight." Snow told him, "Well, basically, there's two kinds of magic, there's the one everyone knows which is drawn off from your physical energy. The more energy, not a Pinkie kind of energy mind you, a pony has, the more magic they can continuously use, or if their exprienced enough, cast the spell in a more efficient manner to allow for more casts of greater power. However, there's a second form almost nopony knows about, essence magic. It draws its energy from the endless reserves of the essence in all of us, which isn't to be confused with the soul. The essence is essentially a template in which everything the pony knows, learns, and sees is imprinted on it, along with being the reason why we can be so energetic and even use magic! The only downside I've found to essence magic, which as far as I know, I'm the only one who knows how to use it, is that it is extremely volitle and reactive to strong emotions." (Well, I've got to go to sleep, night!)
Everything the pony knows, learns, and sees...That sounds almost like... Quickstar glanced at his workroom. No, it couldn't be, the complexity and levels of power she's talking about are far beyond...but then again, with the shielding, she might not have noticed...and they do sound so similar... Returning his attention to the conversation at hand, Quickstar decided there was only one way to answer his questions. "I don't suppose you would mind giving a demonstration of essence magic? I'd love to see it for myself at some point when things have calmed down a bit. But for now, we have a party to enjoy." (See ya later then Snow. We'll continue this tomorrow, hopefully.)
Lancer woke up the next day to see her tavern remain spotless, just the way she left it last night. She got up and did her morning routine of getting into presentable order and spending the morning with her staff. By the time everypony was ready, the tavern would open within the next half an hour. So to pass the time, she put on the large television set located several meters on the right side of the wall overlooking the counter. There was nothing on, just a program about politics that would quickly kill the time. The staff decided to play a quick game of checkers upstairs until they were called down, Lancer then looked at a picture of her cousin Crimson. Sometime within the evening, Crimson would come down and visit from Snowville several hundred miles away. She could not wait until he visited. Once the clock rang, it was time to open the doors....
After a long night of socialising with the elite. Fire was shattered. So she went to bed. The next morning he awoke with a hangover but she persisted on with her work. Creating a quick hangover cure from what was in the fridge. She went outside and headed straight to the newsagents grabbing the Parchment Times. Finally she sat down in the local park and began to read.
When Tyler got home he immediately ran for his bathroom. Once he was done throwing up he decided to go to sleep so he got up and walked over to his bedroom. He fell asleep and had nightmares as usual.
By the time the party was over, Quickstar was exhausted. Moving into a new house was draining enough, but combined with the meeting with Twilight Sparkle, the encounters with Pinkie Pie, the individuals he had met and the mysteries he had found to explore... This town's reputation for strangeness is certainly well-earned, that's for sure. However, his head had barely touched his pillow before he fell so deeply asleep that nothing short of an Ursa would have been able to rouse him, so all that would have to wait for the next day.
Dreamer snored as he rolled off the bench he had fallen asleep on. He landed with a loud 'Thud' and he stood up wearily. 'damn Pinkie parties... what time is it and when did I fall asleep... ugh, I guess I'll ask him later, i have a flight test to retry.' Dreamer then rushed home, unaware that he had left the box containing his mother's broken amulet on the bench.
"Where did all these damn storm clouds keep coming from?!" Shouted a weather guard (their job is to make sure no bad weather gets into Equestria). "I dunno! But it seems like the clouds just multiply whenever we bust them!" Another yelled. They and several others were busy trying to contain a massive storm the like of which they had never seen before, and failing dramatically. There was a flash of lightning and a sudden gust of wind knocked then into each other, swatting them from the skies like bugs. They tumbled to the ground, wings useless in the sudden pickup of the violent wind, with death seeming certain. Then, right before they impacted, another gust of wind knocked them off course and sent them rolling safely on the ground. By the time they recovered, they found themselves staring a tall, armored pony whose appearence was cloaked in darkness from the lightning only coming from behind him or her. The only thing they could make out beside the shaded figure was the fact that the eyes seemed to be made of pure lightning, "You serve the Traitor, so you have but two options pegasi, join me, or die." "I'ld rather die than betray Celestia and Equestria for some monster!" One weather guard said. The figure chuckled, "Me? A monster? I simply wish to undo the damage the Traitor has done. I will give you one last chance pegasi." the guards stood their ground. "Very well." The figured said with a heavy sigh, "If you wish." Lightning struck out, and the 5 weather guards soon laid dead
As fire finished reading the newspaper and a very gripping 4 page article on diplomacy and parliament in a neighbouring country. she started to walk back picking up the pace when spotting a grey cloud on the horizon.
Quickstar yawned hugely as he got out of bed. It wasn't often anymore that he got to sleep late, and he took great pleasure in doing so. Blinking the sleep out of his eyes, he glanced over at the window. Huh...is there supposed to be a storm today? I don't remember one being scheduled...but then again, we are right next to the Everfree, infamous for its wild weather. I should ask somepony about it, but I don't see any need to overly worry about it yet. He grabbed a slice of leftover cake for breakfast and headed to his workroom to take care of a few things that needed attending to.
After yet again failing to fly, Dreamer realized he had left his most prized possession in the middle of nowhere. He rushed to the park he had left it, and as he entered the area he charged past a child, almost knocking him over. He turned his head to yell back an apology, but ended up crashing into a tree before he could say anything. He slumped to the ground, barely conscious.
Intrude smacked awake. "Intrude!! Intrude!" March screamed, trying to wake her. "Yes, dear. I see." she said, running over to him. "Are you ok?" she asked. She closed her eyes, and a tendril of shadow went into his brain, and she sorted through hid thoughts, trying to find how to help.
Dreamer's chaotic flow of nonsensical thoughts flooded into Intrude's mind, overwhelming her, and forcing him to jump up and yell his apology to March that had not been said. "Sorry! Sorry! Whoa, ow... My head..."
(Dreamer, please don't take control of others OCs) The rumble of thunder woke Snow from her sleep, "Arg, damn those weather ponies!" She grumbled sleepily. She stumbled over to her window and threw it open, getting ready to yell to them for making a storm so early, only to receive a face full of rain. "GAH!" She yelled in surprise, and struggling against the huge gust that came in with the rain, closed the window again. Gasping and soaking wet, along with anything close to the window, she stumbled over to her calendar, "Today's Tuesday! And it isn't even a storm week!" She exclaimed in anger. Looking outside and the pouring rain and now the constant lightning, a sudden thought popped in her head, "This ain't a normal storm..." She mummered...
