Snow was helping a very hungover Dark up from the couch where she had left her the night before when they both heard the distance boom. Dark seemed to instantly recover and got up on her own, "Snow, stay here and watch Midnight, I might come back for Winter to help, but for the sake of the kid, stay here." Dark said to Snow, who nodded. "Good, and Snow, if this turns out to be the worse than I think it is, and I don't come back, I want to say goodbye." and with that she ran through the door and took off, heading towards Canterlot, which now had smoke rising above it from several areas.
Dark Shine heard the boom in the distance, coming from Canterlot. "Mother! Father! Foxglove! Buttercup! Pine Dancer! I'm coming!" He then turned and went towards Canterlot, for the source of the exlposion.
The caped pony was running in full gallop towards Canterlot, along the railroads that connected it. "Freedom, please be alive, damnit!" He looked up at the sky and saw several pegasuses flying towards Canterlot. He then shouted, "Fire, now!" As his hooves were swallowed in flames, along with his mane and tail, causing him to look like a giant fireball coming towards Canterlot. (He still has his horn intact, meaning he has ze fire powers!)
When Dark landed in the town square, all was quiet, literally, there was not a single pony to be seen. The streets, and everywhere she could see, were empty of ponies. "Now what's going on here?" she asked herself aloud, when she heard the sounds of pony slowly clapping from behind her. She turned quickly to see a large orange, and masked pony standing on his back hooves, slowly clapping, "Well done, I must say. You appear to have landed in a trap." he brought his hooves down upon the pavement, which put a pretty good sized crater in it, and then the exits and the rooftops filled with ponies armed to the teeth. Dark turned and growled at her enemy. "Oh, such bravery, even in the face of utter destruction you still want to fight. "If it means taking as many of you down as I can before you take me down, then I would say it wouldn't be in vain." Dark said to the pony. "Oh, but it would, ms. Dark. I want you to understand a few things, Canterlot will be destroyed, there's nothing you can do to stop it, and you will die, there is also no doubt about that. But the timing of these things..weelll, they cannot be known. But one will come before the other. Now, let's see if we can't make your death come first. But first I should tell you just who killed you, well I am Pain." Pain then charged at Dark, who barely dodged out of the way. She suddenly felt a familiar weight barely pressing down on her, her Elemental Armor. Dark smiled, then seemingly disappeared in a burst of black smoke. "Ah, you are the Champion of Darkness I see, might I introduce you to the light?" the plaza was suddenly filled with bright light as the ponies on the roof turned on bright lighting (Think of stadium lights). Pain looked around to see a zipping shadow heading straight towards him. He brought back a hoof, and socked Dark right in the jaw, if it wasn't for her armor, it would have very likely had broken. Dark flew back from the force of the punch, becoming visible once more, before catching herself in the air. "Give it up Dark, and accept your fate." Pain taunted. "Never." Dark once again disappeared, but this time, she had a better idea...
(Holy long post, Batman!) The caped pony reached the guard ruins. He ran right into it, not expecting to be ambushed. "Heh, seems like you're in bad spot, fella." Said Razor, a cyan pony with a blue mane as he tapped the shoulder of Karl, who was furious. The cape had burned off, leaving his dark red coat. Karl simply looked at the pony as Razor walked around him. "But, hey! We have orders you know!" Karl said nothing, as it wasn't the time to speak. It was only time to kill. "So i you would just lie down a-" Razor was cut off as the axe hit him in the throat. His lifeless body slumped down on the ground, leaving Karl, standing on his back hooves with a mad smile on his face. The other ponys rushed towards him, but the sides of the small army was killed by a small hatchet flying forward and back, to meet Karls hoof as he catched it. Karl was known as the lumberjack in Canterlot for his methods, which was using an axe, hatchet and a knife. What was unique was that he could throw the hatchet like a boomerang, making it go away and return. The rest was dealt with by his axe, which was made completely of metal, and had a rubber handle. He called it Knock Knock, mainly because he knocked his foes with the handle and then sliced and diced them. After the battle was over, leaving him with a few cuts and bruises, he jumped at the ruins and began tearing them away. "Freedom, where are you!" He shouted out at the top of his lungs. "I'm over here, you shmuck!" Was his reply. He looked to the right and saw a dark green hoof sticking out from some rubble. He bolted over and shoved away several stone blocks, before seeing his friend. Freedom wasn't in that bad shape, just the right backhoof was broken. Karl took and lifted him up, carrying him to a destroyed wall, putting him down in a sitting position, leaning his head at the wall. "You okay?" Karl asked his dark green friend. "Okay? I'm pretty bucking far from okay." Replied Freedom. "You'll manage. I gotta go kick some pony flank, don't die on me in the mean time, okay?" Freedom looked at him with a serious face, then put up a hoof for a brohoof, which Karl gladly accepted. "Okay, when you see the boss of this gang, kick him in the butt and say hello from me, okay?" Karl nodded and stood up. He looked towards the rest of the city, and bolted off. It was time for him to return to Canterlot. Not as a killer, but as a hero.
(Karl, just so you know, no more easy massacres like that. That one I can understand as you needed to get in but...Oh and that first part was highly appropriate as I am using Bane as a template for this villian) Dark took out the lights around the plaza, and she was getting additional help from the setting sun, "Come on out Champion, show us just how great you really are!" Pain yelled. "I'm right here." she said from right above Pain, before slamming his head down into the pavement hard enough to crack it. Thinking that he would be out like any normal pony would, Dark then turned her attention to the ponies surrounding her, when she suddenly felt her tail get grabbed, "Oh no." she muttered, right before being spun like a tornado and thrown into a building side, punching a hole into the wall. When she looked up, she saw Pain just calmly approaching her. She slowly picked herself up from the rubble she was in and realized this was going to be one tough fight.
Fire soon reached Canterlot and noticed some comotion. He then noticed a hole in a building, Dark, and a masked pony approaching her. He landed near by, "Hey! Who started a fight without me?"
As always Rashall was last on scene and as always he had warriors backing him up albeit a few totaling around twenty not including himself. They were five pony or wolf, or in two cases mixed, squads Howling banshees, Warp Spiders, Terminators of the Dragon Guard, and an Assault Squad respectifully. At the current time they kept out of the fight not wishing to interfere unless innocents where in the crossfire.
Pain smiled, "I'm not after you, but if you wish to fight, well, I guess you shall die alongside your friend." Pain motioned to the ponies along the building tops, then they opened fire upon Firebreeze. Pain turned to face Dark, only to receive a buck to the face. Dark smiled as Pain reared back, then her eyes grew wide with fright as he brought his hooves to bear, barely getting out of the way before they slammed into the concrete. Does he feel no pain! She thought frantically.
Firebreeze growled as his mane and tail turned to fire. He dashed up to the building tops and began to deal with each goon, one by one, dodging bullets all the way.
Rashall's unit had opened up with shuriken pistols, death spinners, bolt pistols, bolt guns and even a plasma gun the flamer being held in reserve. The sudden fire took the rooftop enemies off guard those quick enough dove for cover other simply jumped off the buildings those too slow were cut down by the concentrated fire. Those that had taken shelter soon found the warp spiders and assault unit in their midsts blinking or jumping into and out of their ranks, Rashall soon called for them to stop and concentrate fire on the other roof tops to cover the terminators that had entered the open ground their anceint armor simply delfecting the rounds making other enemies duck behind cover to avoid their own bullets. Nexus was at the head of the terminators his storm shield and thunder hammer at the ready as were his brothers next to him, beind him came Windhowl and her banshees together they carved a path into the center of the battle.
Pain advanced on Dark, who only managed to survive by sheer agility, but one touch from those swinging hooves of death, well, she didn't want to end up in another pile of rubble. She managed to put some distance between her and Pain, who didn't seem to care that Firebreeze and Rashall's troops were taking out his henchponies, "Come on Protector Light, are you afraid of me? Where's that feared fighting style of yours? Or are you only a legend because of your now dead comrades? Oh, that's right, your compratiats now lie under the rubble of their own living quarters." Pain taunted. That last part pulled something in Dark, and she flew at Pain in a wave of anger. "Good." Pain said, then right before Dark slammed into him, he sent a killer uppercut into Dark's lower jaw, sending her spiraling over him.
Gaze was walking through the Ponyville examining an apple and a huge explosion coming from Canterlot made Gaze drop the fruit after looking at the explosion he started to see smoke. He started to run towards the train station but after he got there he saw that the train to Canterlot was "Out" Gaze sighed and got out his dried up stars and made them into their bubble form Gaze jumped on them and started to fly towards Canterlot.
Pain walked over to Dark, casually picking her up, and sent her flying into a crowd of Rashall's soldiers. He pressed a part of his mask and his whole body became covered in a heavy armor, "Is that all, Ms. Dark? Who's next?!"
"Dark!" Fire yelled out as he watched Dark get punched into the air and thrown. He grabbed the hench pony he was dealing with and threw him off the building then jumped down to help Dark face Pain.
"Oh, Firebreeze, one time commander of the rough riders and the Champion of Fire if I remember correctly." Pain said casually, "Now let's get this over with, I have a city to destroy and fighting you may be fun but it is, in all essence, unrequired of me."
"You'll regret even meeting me, Dirt!" Fire said, fire leaking from his mouth as he shouts, sending a fireball straight at Pain.
Pain just laughed as the fireball struck him, he didn't even flinch. "Maybe I should give you a lesson in my own name boy!" Pain said, before slamming into Firebreeze, sending him flying back, "I am the best fighter the world has seen, and you think a little fireball will hurt me! HA! Have you even heard of me!" Pain taunted
Arrows saw the explosion and rushed to the scene to see his friends fighting pony, and getting taken out quite easily. "Holy Celestia! What the hell is going on?"
"Ah, Arrows, Champion of speed if I remember correctly." Pain called to the newest arrival, "Are you here to learn why I am called Pain as well?"
