LOCP III Take 2

Dark Shine decided to leave Canterlot for now. He would come back, but now, he had some soul searching to do.
Who am I? What am I? Will I see my family again? What happens now?
All of these thoughts smashed around his mind as he flew off. He spotted a cliff and not noticing that somepony else was on it, he landed on it, and sighed.
He went to the edge, looked down sighed then sat down.

 

Karl was brought out of his thoughts when an old friend sat down by him. "Hi Darkshine. Want some Vodka? I never drink a bottle all by myself, anyway." He held the bottle up for Darkshine to taste. If he could earn some trust then maybe, maybe everything wasn't gone in this world.

 

Dark Shine shrugged.
"Sure... I dont really drink... But... I dont know whats what anymore..."
Dark Shine took a quick swig before handing it back to Karl.
"Thanks. What are you doing up here?"

 

"I'm... remembering." He simply answered. "You know, sometimes things go wrong. When we try to fix 'em, we just make it worse. I hate to think about the world like that, but it always just comes up to that." He sighed and looked at Karl. "You wanna know the real reason behind all my killing?" He looked at Darkshine. It was time to spill it, time to give it all up. "The real bloody reason, is revenge." He looked back down the cliff.

 

Dark Shine sighed.
"I am afraid I dont quite understand Karl. Revenge? How? How does killing innocents, count as revenge."

 

Karl looked at Darkshine, then leaned back a bit. He sighed and said, "For 24 years now. For 24 years now have i tried to kill the ponies who murdered my parents." He looked up at the sky. "And 15 years since my only real friend got killed, here on this cliff." He looked back at Darkshine. "Thats why i've killed endlessly." In his mind...

His thought were rushing through his head like bullets. He couldn't think of anything. The only thought clear in his mind was of her. He could hear the melody play in his head, over and over again. If he stood up now, he would shove the blade of his axe into Darkshine automatically. He was struggling to disobey the voices in his head.

 

Dark Shine shook his head.
"To kill for one, only means you lose more and more. If you were to go hunting down everypony then you would be alone. If you make friends with ponies, then, you can become no longer alone..."
He sighed again, before sitting down.

 

Karl looked at Darkshine, then shook his head. "Darkshine, do you remember when you first met me? I passed out infront of Snows door..." He chuckled a bit at the memory. "Do you wanna know what happened back then?" He gazed into Darkshines eyes. "What happened back there is the answer to why i can't stop killing before i find them." He continued. "I have a curse put over me, Darkshine. A curse that wont go away until i find The Truth."

 

Dark Shine sighed.
"All I need to know and know is you were passed out. So I helped you. I took you into my home and let you rest there. Until, of course, the humans invaded."

 

"But you don't know why i passed out. Let me tell you why. Don't ask." He began. "It all started with my first kill. After that, i said to myself that i wasn't gonna kill anypony else. But then...things started happening. I started hallucinating, seeing a crystal figure all over the place. Doc told me that my brain had started going overdrive, working itself to hard. He didn't know why though. Then, a week later, i had my first "pain wave" as i like to call 'em." He sighed and looked out over Equestria. "They come once a week if i haven't shed blood. At first it was more like torture, the pain was unbearable and i passed out whenever they came. But it all changed when i got the Flames." He smiled weakly. "Turns out, those waves are massive energy outbursts, from not depleting my power resources. The pleasure of killing ponies numbs them down, but..." He paused and breathed out. "But killing ponies isn't good for my psyke, either." He looked at Darkshine with teary eyes. "I'm on a course set straight for death, no matter what i do."

 

Dark Shine shook his head.
"I dont get it Karl, and I never will. Goodbye."
He got up and began to fly off to his house.

 

Karl looked at Darkshine, ready to throw his hatchet. "Not worth it, not right now." He mumbled to himself, holstering it. He wen't back to sitting down and reminiscing. Maybe Dark could understand him better, but with all the commotion at the prison, it's not likely she will get here, he thought to himself. He stood up and said, "Welp, i won't get anything done by sitting here! Better see who's on my list!" He looked out over Canterlot, then said, "Mic, huh? Looks like the rapper is gettin' whats coming to 'im." He said with a devious smile, then departed for MictheMics house.

 

Karl looked at Tyro with dead eyes. He sighed and said, "Well, atleast somepony is interested in it." He sat down and began, "Well, if i wait a week after my first kill to start off a killing spree, i begin to experience waves that sends pure, unhindered pain throught my body. When my horn was broken it was like my skin was peeled off my body, and someone poured salt on the muscles. Now with my horn back, i have energy spikes. It still hurts like hell, but now...now i burst into flames. Thats why you found me with third-degree burns, remember? I couldn't tell you guys because you were off fighting. Whatever it is, i'm pretty sure that you can't fix it. There you go. Ya happy now?" He asked Tyro. He had gotten his first kill today, and it was kinda pointless to continue with his spree, but he always continued without knowing why.

 

Firebreeze shook his head and turned to leave, but called back, "Letting go easier said than done, Pain." before walking out into New Canterlot.

 

Gaze looked at Dark and back to Pain "So goody two shoes you act like you've seemed changed by the actions you have done but I bet your sick mind is still inside there willing to kill more innocent ponies,". Gaze walked out of the Canterlot Prison with a angry attitude but he just remembered about the murder in Ponyville he walked up to one of the guards and got them to put wanted poster for Karl.

 

While Dark Shine was heading back, he noticed a small camp.
"Huh... Whats this?"
He flew down closer and smiled as soon as he saw somepony walk out of a tent.
His mother was still alive! Then, who would happen to come out after but his dad! Then Foxglove and Pine Dancer!
He flew down to say hi, and check up that they are ok.
"Mother! Father! Sisters! Your alive! I though you died!"
He embraced each of them in a massive hug.
"We must talk!" he exlaimed, finally letting go.

After a few minutes, he walked out.
"So... Buttercup is... Dead... As in... Actually... Gone..."
He looked into his sisters eyes to see the sorrow.
"I understand. I know it was a great failure. But at least you are alive."
He smiled, then turned and flew off to his home.
Buttercup will be missed... But... Everyone else... They survived! Happy days! I still have family!

 

"Well, everyone that has wanted revenge on me have gotten killed by yours truly." He said. "And i'll say the same as i said to Darkshine: It's a curse. And it is by no means removable by anyone else but The Clockmaker." He looked beside Tyro, as if he was checking for something. "However, if you wan't to speak with him, i could arrange a meeting. But, by no means will you try to remove this curse on me, or he'll put you out of count. Forever." He then asked, "If you wan't to speak with him, get to the royal palace. I will be waiting for you there." He shoved Tyro out of the way and wen't around the corner, somehow disappearing from the streets. He had to prepare if he was gonna contact his ol' friend TC.
