I quite like that this show has reminded people how to behave properly. However, some bronies think that they automatically love and tolerate when they join the fandom. However, not all of them do follow the rule. They'll think highly of themselves because they are kinder and more open-minded than others. It's this pride that irritates the many trolls on the internet. So some bronies, who claim to be troll-proof, actually end up being the troll-bait. Come to think of it, I don't think that the phrase "love and tolerate" has been used in the show once.
It should be a rule of life. However I don't see that happening anytime soon. But it isn't really a rule of the fandom. Afterall, this is just a show.
Well, if that were a rule of life, it would be a dumb one. If you say you love and tolerate, what I hear is that you look at people and just assume the best about them. That is the complete opposite of how I'll view a person. I really do find that saying to be dumb and slightly childish, it's like a fantasy world.
Yes it is a fantasy world. It's not going to happen, but it'd be nice. Imma dump some music here that some's up what I'm trying to say:
Hello, thread that died of hostility. Personally, Love and Tolerance are two things I try to live by, ponies or no ponies, and despite the fact that it may be viewed as foolish, naive, or childish. I think it's kind of silly to attach the phrase to the fandom...although I suppose it is applicable to the show. Really though, it's the individual's choice whether they do or don't. It has nothing to do with being a Brony.
I try to live up to it, but there are certain types of people I flat out refuse to love and tolerate. Just my two cents worth, I'm not going to pretend to be perfect as no-one is perfect.
Well... While I agree some people are difficult to love, isn't that the point of the second word? Tolerate? Obviously nobody is perfect, but that's all the more reason to tolerate them. Because you aren't perfect, and neither are they, so you should put up with each other to avoid hypocrisy. Personally I never stop TRYING to love everyone, though I can't say I succeed at it all the time. Probably not even most of the time. But I try. ^^
Its only recently that i have bought this motto to heart. Ive been a Brony for a few months now and i dont consider this a way to troll haters, Because the show REALLY does promote love and Tolerance. If we all show people that this is what its about, they have an invalid argument, because all they would hate...is whats meant to be right, whats meant to be strived for in life......Love and Tolerance my fellow Brony's/Pegasisters is the way we should follow ^^
Love and tolerance is a good thing. Just don't take it too seriously, especially when you know you shouldn't.
Everytime I hear "tolerate" I think of a kid who got bullied in school and just didn't do anything about it. I remember seeing that stuff on the bus. Jerks just pick on some kid and he doesn't even move. It's fine to tolerate things in certain situations, but sometimes you gotta show some damn backbone.
When it comes to trolls, our community is our backbone. In terms of real life outside of the community, if someone picks on you for being a brony, do what I did and just walk away.
Haters actually exist outside of the internet? Interesting, I thought they were all too scared. I've come across about a dozen people who complimented me, but no haters yet.
I'm yet to be complimented on it. I met the only 2 bronies I know of in my school today. Ones an awesome girl who's a dashie fan, and ones a guy who's an AJ fan like me. I was chuffed when I met them. We were in a group of about 30 people and upon the phrase 'My Little Pony' being uttered, we instantly got abuse thrown at us. Shows you how fickle people can be.
90% of Bronies (even on YouTube), I see them say "I will love and tolerate the living (insert any word meaning big here) out of you!" but in reality, they're terrible at it. Anytime someone states their opinion on a brony, something that someone disagrees about, or some other third thing, they flat out are RUDE! I know that some ponies are good at keeping that true to themselves (being loving and tolerable) but look at it around you. I honestly think giving that phrase to the Brony fandom was downright wrong since so many Bronys and Pegasisters are so rude about others opinions, even if the one stating their opinion was nice about it.
