Eclipse sighed. "Ok miss Allure. Miss Velvet please step forth and perform a spell!" He hoped to get this over with before the break.
Allure moped back to her desk. 'Well, I didn't finish the spell, but at least I showed everypony I could do it...' she thought sadly. Looking back, she saw that Fizz was still giggling. 'That unicorn has some odd traits.' she inquired. She sat back in her desk with a sigh. Eclipse sighed and said "Ok miss Allure. Miss Velvet please step forth and perform a spell!" Allure looked around the room. Who was Velvet? She turned around to see a unicorn in the back, still drawing on some notepad. 'How did I not see her before!?' Allure thought with shock.
Quill leaned toward Allure and whispered, "Sorry your spell didn't go the way you'd hoped... I wish I could make bubbles from thin air." The young unicorn had seen some of what Velvet could do during Shield's demonstration. Thinking about that darkness made him shiver. I wonder what her "best" spell is...
Velvet took her umbrella, and walked to the front of the class. "Alright. Let's put a end to this waste of time." She opened her umbrella, and focused. Her eyes went dark, and the shadows of everypony pointed at her. She raised her hoof, and the shadows raised from the ground. Her umbrella spinned, and the shadows went to the front of the class with her. "These shadows can obey me. What do you want me to show you?"
Silver's carefully maintained sulking broke into giggles when Allure said this. For some reason he found this unbelievably funny.
Velvet sighed. "C'mon. Those are invincible soldiers and you want them to dance? Alright, here it'goes." She spinned her umbrella, and the shadow started to dance. After a couple of minutes, she raised her hoof, and the shadows returned to their respective bodies, and velvet let them go. The eye on her cutie mark flashed briefly, and she had a little headache. "I can do more, if you want. It wasn't my best spell, but it was the one easier to show. 'Want me to do something awesome?"
"No," Quill meekly replied. Having his shadow taken from him was...unsettling enough, to say the least. He nearly edged off of his seat as he kept a wary eye on his shadow, fearing that it would leap at him.
Eclipse felt that that would be enough for now. "That is enough Miss Velvet! Its break anyhow." His horn began to glow and before they knew it everypony was outside. OOC: This is the part where you can walk around and introduce yourselves to other ponies.
Silver looked around himself in surprise. He was outside? Grrr, they hadn't even learned anything yet! He looked around. There didn't seem to be anything to do except...talk. Silver wasn't a big fan of talking...
Velvet was alone in her corner, her umbrella closed lying over her saddlebag. She wasn't that good to make 'friends', considering useless to rely on other ponies and be 'happy'. She opened her sketchbook, and continued the esquisse she had started earlier.
Allure blinked rapidly. What just happened!? She glanced around at the other ponies, who looked equally confused, and shrugged. Maybe now she could meet Quill for real. Allure trotted up to him and said "We never got to be properly introduced earlier! Hello, my name is Allure!"
Grey Mane went of to find the darkest place to play with her collection. Cool shades decided to stand in the center to make himself look 'Kool' as he put it and spelt it. Buttercup looked around at all the different Flowers. Eclipse sighed. He had to change the routine now it seemed.
Landing from the transport outside, Fizz's eyes whirled in her head. She finally held either side of her face with her hooves and got a hold of herself. The residual energy sent a tingle up her spine, and her horn suddenly flashed with an orange energy, and Fizz, who was in the grass just a second ago, was upside-down in the field much closer to Silver. Her horn fizzled out and she smiled meakly, looking up at him through her frizzy pink mane with golden eyes. "Whizzi you?! Nice mark~..."
Silver jumped, startled by Fizz's sudden appearance, but calmed down after a few moments. "Um...what?" He was a bit confused by her excited speech, and also distracted by her...upsidedown-ness.
Quill swayed from left to right as he became adjusted to his new surroundings. He was no stranger to the weightless feeling of levitation, but teleportation was something completely different. Before he could fully recover, he heard a filly's voice: "We never got to be properly introduced earlier! Hello, my name is Allure!" He turned toward the voice and simply stared at the three light blue fillies who had gathered before him. As his dizziness subsided, the three ponies merged into one and Quill finally felt well enough in his stomach that he could address them...her. "Ah. Allure..." Quill bowed only slightly as he still felt a tad dizzy. "You're the one who sits close to me, right? I'm sorry for the mountain of stuff that you have to climb to get to your seat." He glanced as the ground and sheepishly shifted his weight. "My parents wanted me to be prepared for anything on my first day, but I fear they may have overprepared me..." He added, "Although, it did help in doing my 'best' spell." "I'm sorry, I'm rambling. My name is Quilliam Bartholomew Inkwell the Third." He bowed again. "Um...most ponies think it's quite a mouthful, so they just shorten it to Quill or Quilliam. I don't mind either way." As he looked at Allure, he noticed that something was...off...but he couldn't put his hoof on it. Maybe it was an optical illusion, but he could swear that her eyes were different colors. Nah...it can't be. Can it? I'd best not draw attention to it either way... She may get offended. "I thought your spell was pretty impressive. I can't create bubbles from thin air..."
Allure smiled at Quill. "Why are you bowing, silly?" She asked. "I'm not some kind of Pony Princess! Oh, and the bubble was nothing. I was going to morph it into a candle, but Fizz over there popped it." She turned around to steal a glance at the spaztic unicorn, who was now upside down. Allure giggled at the sight. "She's funny!" Allure observed.
Quill blushed a bit and drew backward a step. "I- I thought it was proper to bow to a lady! I didn't mean to offend you!" "Oh, Fizz?" He responded, glancing at the upside-down pony. "She's...oh, what's the word Auntie Twenty-Four Carat uses...'charming'...'" No, the colt though, 'Charming's' not the word I want... Living with his aunt, he had become acquainted with the fact that the Canterlotian High Class had what he liked to call "Code Words" for certain ponies or situations. 'Charming' meant that they found something strange or a bit on the wierd side. He and his cousins' antics have been called 'charming' before. The Canterlotian High Class actually had two words that meant 'funny': 'Droll' and 'Amusing'. Neither of those words quite conveyed how he thought of Fizz, either. He resolved to come up with one in the meantime. "Shall we introduce ourselves? I'll try not to bow," he said, smiling.
"Sure!" Allure agreed. She saw that Silver and Fizz were already conversing, so she bounced over to the pony that could manipulate shadows. "Hello there!" She said happily. "My name is Allure!"
