Playing a Paragon Vanguard right now. I feel like a god of the battlefield. Area Charge with full Shield restore + Nova/Heavy melee = dead things.
Fail original post lol. Just finished a 6 hour sweat fest. Absolutely godly so far. Vanguard too, but Shockwave > Nova <3 Loving how the decisions (even paragon) ones can come back to bite you in the butt here Also.. Loving the multiplayer.. Although it looks like it MAY get a tad repetetive. Cons? Scanning still sucks... Not as many romance talks/references as I would've hoped (...yet), hopefully this will improve! Crap. I don't know which I want in my party, Spoiler: PARTY SPOILERS Tali or EDI. Tali's always been one of my favorites, but EDI's so novel and her Decoy really helps in intense fights. Javik is my other guy and he's not going anywhere.
Glad everyone picked vanguard. I hate Nova, it's so useless. Why would I waste my shield. I don't even use the abilities any more, there kinda worthless now. I just stick to armoureater AKA the claymore. That solves all my problems and I mean all of them.
Nova is insanely powerful when leveled up, has a very large blast radius, and has so much force behind it, it'll knock down or stagger what it doesn't kill, and you're invincible while using it. Also, its cooldown doesn't run off the normal global cooldown. In other words, you can use it while other abilities are still cooling down and it won't interfere with their recharge. So fully leveled, you can Charge an enemy, get full shields, Nova for crazy damage, then Charge another enemy to get your shields back to 100% immediately before anyone has the chance to attack you while your shields are down. Look out for Turrets though, those hurt. Thanks to Charge, Nova, and heavy melee attacks, I almost never use guns ever, and when I do, it's just the Carnifex or Paladin pistol. That way, I'm really lightweight and my powers recharge twice as fast, letting me use Charge every 2.94 seconds. With a recharge speed that low, I can just CHARGENOVACHARGECHARGENOVACHARGE spam. Everything dies. EVERYTHING. I took 3 Brutes head-on without cover with this setup.
My armour eater shotgun lets me kill a brute in two shots. No need for powers. Now that I beat the game I'm playing 1-3 in a row. This time as an engineer. Never played that glass before. -- Sent from my Palm Pre using Forums
