"I'm not returning as anypony but me," Azrael said with a hint of pride. ~~~~~~~~~ Maya nodded. "Thought so. Looks to work a lot like the one Doctor Whooves keeps around."
Cannonball shrugged. "Well, do what ya want, kid, but the little filly has a point. Folks are gonna be scared of you." "That's not necessarily a bad thing," Nightshade said. ************************************************ Silver nodded. "If possible, yes."
Azrael shrugged. "For all they know, I fell into a coma for several decades after the attack. That part, they can imagine. But I will not return as anypony but me."
*The Door that had been previously conjured, immediately swings open.* Rep: One hour as I see it. After that you'll automatically be returned Silver. Don't try to completely change the course of the future, because that'll mess this world up. And Maya, it seems that way, doesn't it? But it's a bit different.
Silver nodded. "To what point in time will this take me?" ******************************************************** An alarm sounded for a few seconds, and then cut out. Nova nodded. "We've crossed into the borders of the old lands. We should be near one of the old Pegasi towns, if it hasn't fallen after all these years."
Silver decided that three months would be sufficient, and stepped through the door... and into a frozen wasteland. The ruins of the bar lay around him, half covered by ice and snow. In the distance, he could see plumes of smoke in three directions.
(Sends a portion of himself through the Door after Silver) RepT: ((the portion)) (Looking around before speaking) Well, this is interesting RepB: ((the bar)) (Sits down)
From various newspapers he found in the empty villages, Silver pieced together what had happened. Two weeks after Raven's birthday party, a massive storm was detected moving slowly towards the Crystal Empire. A week after that, contact with the Empire was lost. An investigation by Princess Twilight and the Element bearers revealed that the Crystal Heart had been intentionally shattered, and the citizens of the Empire were all missing. The princess and her friends managed to get out one final message before they too disappeared: "Quarantine the Empire." That was where the last article ended, but it was obvious what had happened. The containment had failed, and whatever had destroyed the crystal ponies had spread to Equestria. He checked his watch. His hour was nearly up. ************************************************************* Nightshade shrugged as several small buildings came into view, resting atop the clouds. They were in remarkably good shape for having been abandoned a millennia before.
RepT: (Investigating a little bit deeper into the energy that swirled naturally through the world, before exclaiming in, what might be construed as alarm by those who didn't really know the Rep.) Silver, whatever it is that froze everything, well it knows that we are here. And well, it's coming back. RepB: (Knowing what the version in the future learned, at the same instant that he learned it) Hey does anypony, that right? I don't know, is there anyway that I can communicate with those up North from here? I'd teleport up there but right now I can only split effectively between two places, since one of those places is across Time AND Space. If it wasn't across Time I could split effectively between more places.
Silver nodded. "I suspect that it has already killed me once in this timeline. I would prefer to not give it a chance to do so again."
RepT: I do want to know what it is though.. It feels somehow, familiar to me, but at the same time, it's not.
"I would suspect windigos," Silver replied, "But that shouldn't be possible. They were hunted to extinction centuries ago. I personally lit the torch that burned the last one."
RepT: If we stay here any longer we'll find out. And that would not be preferable for either of us. I don't have the full power of the Council backing me, and as you said, it probably killed this timeline's version of you. (Starts to disintegrate into particles that are pulled back through the Door, but the majority of his shape and form are still present)
"Our hour is up," Silver agreed, slowly fading away as he returned to the present. His expression stayed calm, but he was in fact very concerned. If something could kill him... then it could kill the princesses.
RepT: (Before he fully is pulled through the Door, sees a great icy cloud rushing towards him, and so he throws up a limited effect Gate of Time, the best he can do with such a small amount of time left before being pulled fully through the Door and slamming it shut in the bar as both of his forms fused again.) *Meanwhile in the future, the Entity gnashes at the Gate, forced to watch the Door close and vanish, before the Gate follows suit.*
"Those buildings should have fallen by now," Navaja commented. "Unless the architecture is flawless."
