Words, and phrases about the future and past of this Universe. Some things from before this Universe, and some from after. Things that could warp minds, change timelines. And some of it is just nonsense.
"Mmm... If I didn't have a baby, I'd drop some acid and listen. What do you have up, some kinda perception filter?"
Silver cocked his ear, listening to the Architect's words. "Is there any way to discern the prophecy from the nonsense? I have not heard the old tongue in many years, but I believe he just mentioned an 'evil from the forsaken lands.'" ************************************************************* Nightshade walked in, joining the conversation. "You fought a rogue. I remember him from the Academy. Terrible student, great fighter. He never should have made it into the Night Guard, but his father was close with the princess. Celestia asked my dad to give him a chance." She laughed. "I kinda wanted to off him myself, but apparently Celestia thinks my methods are 'too extreme.'"
Of course there is a way to discern it. What he said was, in loose translation to your "common" speak, is "Long ago, there is an evil, hmm, I guess 'encased', onto the Forsaken Lands. It thaw now, 'digest chicken feet'?, and see the sun" I don't know, not everything translates correctly.
Silver shook his head. "I understand the words. I merely ask if there is a way to tell which, if any, of the things he says are real prophecy. True seers are rare. If he is telling the future right now, it would not be unwise to listen and take notes."
Other than opening a window into Time and checking everything he says against this Timeline, not really, no. And its dangerous knowing too much about your future. (Receiving a telepathic vision of the Convergence) Remember that big Convergence, that happened as a result of, among other things, because something knew too much of its own future and, pulled a, as young beings have been saying, "Rage-flipped a table?" and tried changing things in drastic ways. That wasn't the only cause, but it was a contributing factor.
Silver shrugged. "My duty is to protect Equestria. Were there a way to discover threats before they put us in danger, I would be remiss not to take advantage of that."
Indeed. (Listening to Architect's ramblings, and as he did, his eyes glowed and a Door into Time appeared) Not guaranteeing anything though. We'll go check on it?
Nightshade nodded. "I know. She wanted an outsider. Somepony who wouldn't make it personal. I understand her reasons, but I still think she should have let us deal with him." Her face darkened, the illusion spell that hid her scars flickering. "I'd have made that bastard beg me to kill him."
Navaja smirked. "And that is why you weren't asked. We were trained to eliminate a target quickly and escape." Azrael walked into the room, headed straight for Cannonball, and held his hoof out to him. "...You are the mightiest stallion I've met in a long time, friend. It would be an honor to shake your hoof."
Cannonball grinned and shook Az's hoof. "And you're the toughest bastard I've ever fought. Even old Sil bled after a few hits." "He still beat you, though," Nightshade commented.
Silver, would you like to attempt to find out if what Architect is saying, is actually going to happen?
"And you." Azrael shook Navaja's as well. "Those stabs would have put down a lesser stallion. A sharp blade deserves a wielder so nimble. I'd never dream of taking on two of your kind." "That's because you don't sleep," Navaja quipped. Azrael finally held a hoof out to Shady. "We did it. Together, we're indestructible."
Nightshade ignored the hoof and pulled him into a hug instead. "Almost indestructible, at least. My head still hurts from that last hit." "It shouldn't," Rain said, walking in. "I gave you a full healing." "For a normal pony, yeah. I'm technically a draconequus. Long story. " "Really? I'll remember that for next time."
"Not that much different, really," Nightshade answered. "Organs and everything in the same place. Cellular structures are bit different, and obviously everything's charged with chaos. Read about it once. Something about how draconequui, and certain ponies, had something called 'abstract' or 'toon' physiological traits."
"Sounds absurd," Navaja commented. "But I'm sure this beautiful medical professional has no trouble figuring it out."
