Rep: (noticing the snake's escape attempts, hurls his own sword, not the Blade of Harmony, at the snake) REALITY SEVERANCE! *Rep's personal sword had a unique ability, when thrown it had a small chance to sever most spells and teleportation attempts, as it could subtly alter physical properties within a few inches of its blade, causing the rippling effect in the air it has when wielded.*
"You're welcome..." Raven sighed and tore his heart straight out of his chest. "Didn't expect him to come back. Crap." Asmo let out a low gurgle, beginning to shift back to his proper form. ~~~~~~~~ Dusty's eyes widened. "By the gods, mare, try to keep that blade close from now on." ~~~~~~~~ "When his power fades," Maya ordered, "I want us to go cover the ballistae! We don't really wanna lose those!" ~~~~~~~ "*squee!*!" Navaja yanked his blade out and hopped off. Azrael raised the sword up and swung it down on the dragon's neck.
Suddenly, Blackened rose up and whacked his hooves against the sword, causing it to go deeper into the dragon's neck.
As last of Apophis' divine energy was torn from his body, his escape route was torn away by Rep's sword. And now, he was pissed. **************************************************** The dragon's head fell to the ground, and the body fell dead beside it. ****************************************************** As the knight's body melted, a small gold pendant was left in the puddle. It bore the seal of the family Black, and ancient line of unicorns. ********************************************************* Daisy nodded, cleanly bisecting another wraith as she did.
Azrael let out a chuckle. "Heheheh. You're mortal now, Apophis. Good luck with it." ~~~~~~~~~~ "Let's go!" Maya put the sword back in her teeth and ran with her soldiers to protect the bastillae. ~~~~~~~~~~ Raven tossed the heart over to Asmo, who caught it in his teeth and ate it. She then bent down and picked up the pendant, inspecting it. "This pony... he was a Black. I guess that's why he was so tough." ~~~~~~~~ "It's done," Dusty said. "Who do we have on the catapults? We need to kill him fast."
Apophis broke free of his bindings with a roar, and went on the attack. He may have been mortal now, but he hadn't lost an iota of his attack power. The pores that covered his body opened, and deadly laser beams shot from the rubies within, burning every pony they struck. His mouth open wide, he vomited magma onto the army below, burning all it touched. The horde had been the easy part. Now they fought the dark god himself. ************************************************************************** Silver swore as a hundreds of ponies died in a matter of moments. He hadn't even had time to order them to fall back. "Get those shields back up NOW! Fire the ballistae! FIRE EVERYTHING!!!" ************************************************************************** "Earth ponies and zebras," Daisy answered. "Everypony who can't get in close or use magic from range."
Rep: (Once more hiding the Blade of Harmony in wherever it was that it goes when he sheathes his weapons, and teleporting to the front lines) You want shielding? I'll show you shielding, if I can. RepS: (to Silver) I'm tempted to call upon some ancient powers the Council could wield. Should I, or would it seem too, hmm, pushy and somewhat, as they've called it in some Universes, superman-ly, I think?
"Don't care," Asmo said, before bolting inside to check on the nuke potion. "Holy buck!" Raven rolled, narrowly avoiding one of his laser beams. ~~~~~~ "Son of a..." Azrael focused his sky lightning on Apophis, striking his body constantly. ~~~~~~~ Belial blocked a mass of magma that was headed for him and a group of soldiers by catching it in his magic, then cooling it to stone. ~~~~~~~ Navaja got too close to one of his laser beams, causing the side of his robe to burn, along with the fur under that area. He swore under hos breath, wincing at the pain. ~~~~~~~ "That's not good," Dusty said. "My wife was close to him. Do you see her? Green pega, red dreadlocks, flank like no other."
Rep: (holding out his hand) Sword, to me. *Within a few moments, his sword seemed to cut the air in front of its blade point, as it was still being carried by the throw's momentum, and promptly vanished and reappeared in Rep's outstretched hand, whilst also seemingly glowing faintly as if there was something more to the sword than there was before the throw.*
Silver nodded to Rep. "Anything. Please. Protect all you can." Luna had be hit by a laser. She only been caught by the edge of the beam, but it had been enough to stun even her. The strike would have killed a normal pony. Celestia was nowhere to be seen. Silver had lost track of her in the confusion. He had to trust that the other Guards would keep her safe. Prince Shining Armor, who had arrived with the Princess Cadance during the battle, had put up his own shield , protecting who he could. *************************************************** Daisy shook her head. "Let's go find her." ************************************************ Apophis continued his merciless attack even as thousands of ballista bolts and magic blasts struck him. He felt the attacks, true, but these creatures were nothing to him. Gnats, swarming endlessly.
Maya and her troops got to the bastillae, making sure nothing got through to them. ~~~~~~~~~~~ "Lead the way," Dusty said. "I've got your back." ~~~~~~~~~~~ "Damn it," Azrael swore. "These attacks are doing nothing. We need something stronger."
Rep: Fine. (Concentrates and nods once) *With a flash of light all of the Council's foci appeared around Rep and he rose into the air, shedding that physical form and appearing as a shining orb with the foci around him.* (Can be heard by all in the area) Maeum Defenderem taeum kinnae defendum tausea ((Translation, "I defend those, who currently cannot defend themselves")) *At this incantation, a great shimmering wall raises in front of those who were unprotected before due to the spread of the army. This wall seemed to absorb energy from impact, akin to vibranium, and disperse it at a high rate of transfer but if too much energy was put in at once, the shield wouldn't be able to disperse it quickly.*
Asmo snarled at the camera, complaining, "Ridley! I've been sitting here for more than two days! Two days, bud! Do something! My flank is starting to hurt!"
The giant ballista bolts struck the snake's belly, burying the tips a foot deep into the obsidian scales. Moments after impact, the drill tips activated, pulling the bolts deeper into the snake's body. The scales were ten feet thick. Once the drills were beneath them, the explosive charge in each one went off, blasting the individual scale loose from the body. *************************************************************** Giant scales began to rain down, bouncing off the shields. Daisy eventually spotted Maya at a ballista in the distance. "Over there. Stick close, we have a about a quarter mile run with no shield. ***************************************************************** A portal opened up beside Asmo, and a strange looking human emerged, followed by a young, confused human. The older one grabbed Asmo roughly. "You! Answer me! Do you have Szechuan teriyaki McNugget sauce in this dimension?!"
Raven slowly picked her guitar back off the ground, pondering a crazy idea to herself. ~~~~~~~~~ "Alright, we're getting somewhere." Azrael repositioned himself, aiming some bolts from his horn up into Apophis's new holes. ~~~~~~~~~ "Oh, thank the gods." Dusty stuck close as they made their way over to her. As they approached, a thin, sharp sliver of scale was flying from the snake, threatening to impale someone by the bastillae. ~~~~~~~~ "What?!" Asmo wiggled out of his grasp. "Buck are you talking about?! Shove off, I'm trying to find my nuke!"
Rep: (noticing a large amount of unchecked kinetic energy, vanishes and reappears in front of the ballistae to attempt to intercept, manifesting a physical form again.)
It didn't seem to work. Maya, unfortunately having stepped just outside the shield, was struck by the piece of scale, impaled through the side and pinned to the dirt with a sharp scream. The shock from the impalement left her unconscious within seconds, and blood was beginning to pool around her body. "MAYA!" Dusty panicked, sprinting ahead of Daisy. "Gods... please, no!"
*Rep freezes in place and his physical form sloughs off again and the orb left behind begins to shine at an intensity rivaling a shooting star and continues getting brighter and his voice resonates and the Council's individual voices can be made out it anyone truly listened.* No. We are not allowing this. This has gone on for too long. For centuries our vast power has been at our fingertips and for the same amount of Time we have kept it under control regardless of emotion and relationships. Not this time. That Pegasus mother helped some of us through a difficult time, and taking into account her life's deeds and works, we will not take this lightly in any sense of the phrase. *Waves of energy were starting to radiate from the orb and foci, detectable by any within the area, and with it, a sense of rage and vengeance even, sensible by really anything that could feel.*
Raven, oblivious to what had just happened, focused on the sound crystals and started strumming out a solo. As she did this, energy from the sound crystals began flowing into the area in front of the bastillae. The energy began to to take the form of a giant, semi-transparent wolf, large enough to rival Apophis. The wolf was holding a massive greatsword in its razor sharp teeth. It crouched down slightly, growling around the sword and preparing to strike the snake god. Raven laughed. "HEY, ASMO! GET OUT HERE AND CHECK THIS OUT!" ~~~~~~~~~~~ Belial stopped trying to kill the snake and teleported over to where Maya was. He spoke plainly, "She seems to be alive. Barely. You need to get her inside the building now." "Yes, I am aware, thank you!" Once close enough, Dusty dust-ported himself and Maya into the bar, along with the piece of scale that had been embedded into her. Belial followed along, teleporting himself with them.
